I loved my stay at this resort. Its location is fantastic! I was looking to disconnect and relax - and that’s precisely what I got! It is situated on top of a hill and it is completely surrounded by nature. The room was great! It had a TV, a nice bathroom and a big and comfortable bed. I loved the wet Mee Hoon with seafood at the restaurant. All in all, it’s an ideal place to relax, stay a bit away from the noise of the city and enjoy the lovely views of Mount Kinabalu and the surroundings. Many thanks to the staff for making this experience awesome!

해뜰때 키나발루산 정말 멋있음. 6시 좀 넘어 해뜬것 같은데 이거보러 꼭 갈만함. 키나발루산 입구에서 체크인 하고 셔틀 같은 미니버스로 숙소까지 데려다주심. 체크아웃때도 셔틀 call. 시간맞춰서 바로바로 와주심. 걸어서는 20분 거리라는데 15분 안걸리는것 같아요. 저흰 젤 저렴한 숙소에서 머물렀는데 창문이 작아서 좀 섭섭했어요. 키나발루산이 크게 보이는 창문이었음 좋았을텐데. 문 밖은 너무 좋은데 문 안으로 들어서면 냄새가 조금 납니다. 모기는 없다고하시네요. 참 식당 좋고 맛있음.

I realized the reviews are old and incomplete. And with the new management, there are many updates I want to share. The lodge was renovated and fixed up in March 2019. This is a nature lodge, and it is a no-frills establishment. The accommodations are clean, but please understand that there are signs of age and are not stain-free. There is no air conditioning (as with most lodging in the area), and it can get cold depending on the weather. Temperature varies from 10C (night) to 20C (day) depending on the time of the year and weather. Extra blankets are available upon request. Expect company of many insects and birds, and a resident shy doggie. I recommend bringing a pair of indoor slippers as the floors can get quite chilly. Staff are extremely helpful and will be around till 10.30pm daily. Road: Most part of road (potholes etc.) are repaired. We rented a sedan (proton persona) which climbed to the lodge with no problems, even in the rain. But another family with the same model couldn’t climb the last bit, which was awfully steep. We assumed it could be due to the tire threading or the wet weather. Mobile Reception: not stable and almost non-existent. On ‘E’ most of the time, occasional low 3G/4G signals. We do our surfing either along the main road or at Kinabalu park HQ. Food: Breakfast, lunch and dinner is available at regular hours of the day at stipulated times. Note that the serving sizes for noodles and rice can by shared by 2 people. Photos of menu attached. We loved the chicken wings btw. Hot bathing water: Hot water is now available 24hrs a day (a huge improvement from previous management). Rooms as per Agoda labels (their main booking platform) Double en-suite (semi-detached; away from main building-White interior): I couldn’t find good photos when I booked this room. It is away from the main building (food and reception) but there are umbrellas for you to borrow when required. It is a cozy room but there is a shortage of cupboard/ shelving space, although there are a couple small drawers. Having the toilet en-suite is a big plus when going to the toilet at night (chilly). The toilet is simple and basic. Water pressure is strong!there is only 2 sockets in the room near the bed, so bring a multiplug if you need more outlets. It’s pretty good, definitely easy for luggages. Quiet and away from the main communal areas. (photos) Double (main building, half floor up and adjacent to communal dining area - photo): These may get a bit noisy if there are a lot of guests around Family (main building, top floor): comes with balcony and view. Be prepared to carry luggage up a flight of stairs (photo). Japanese (main building, top floor): facing the forest and back of the property. Lower ceiling. I stayed for 2 days which is on May, after the lockdown and can only recommend it to all nature lovers who seek transquility and enjoy home stay atmosphere. After getting up in the morning the mountains lie to your feet, offers you a great spot for spotting birds or just relaxing doing nothing but enjoying life and the view. Blisssss. 🤩

Before booking this place I'd looked up through the reviews of others, thought it was as good as they mentioned but we were fooled. We got the room on 2nd flr, new building,lots of stairs up, same picture as shown on front page of website. Room is new modern style. Water heater doesn't work properly, gets cold after using for awhile. Tv sometimes lost connection. No bar soap given. No privacy at surrounding area. Location is exactly beside the street roads can hear vehicles passing by and next door room childrens and adult talking and calling each other out loud. Coffeehouse Restaurant is available but not buffet style. Just dine in and order frm menu. They don't have any oven or microwave to help u heat up whatever food u've got so u just gotta eat them cold the next morning, if u plan on saving them for breakfast. View from the room not so captivating. U will see nothing once the mist starts building in. And mt kinabalu is behind of the hotel. Overall, so boring.

perfectly situation for mountain climb, the room shabby and i dont mean shabby chic. the receptionist was very nice but there was no record of our booking on their computer...despite receiving emails from the hotel and the booking being on my booking.com account-luckily they had rooms available. you could tell you had reached some altitude as when i took my packet of crisps out of my bag they had blown up-so idea place for spending time acclimatizing, although it didnt stop my nausea. the breakfast was very poor, no eggs as the kitchen was closed! but they still managed to produce noddles and rice. so we just had toast and cereals. there is a kettle in the room but you have to buy/supply your own tea/coffee ect. it is not far from the mountain start point so very handy. we did manage to get quite a good nights sleep, there was also a tiny balcony which had a lovely view. there were a few steps to walk down to get to room and we were told what room we had but would been nice to have been shown which one as i struggled to find it and had to keep asking, and all they did was point.
