Calcutta Bungalow

An historic building in an interesting part of old Kolkata, this boutique hotel oozed with charm! Highlights for us were the Bengali breakfasts and delicious thali dinner on the roof terrace. The staff were always helpful and informative.

A lovely place to start our holiday. Old house that retains a lot of its old charm (and all of the steps!).Room comfortable rather than spacious. Excellent kitchen on the roof _- we ate for our 2 night stay here- and the food was freshly cooked and delicious and served with lovely smiles! It was my birthday while I was there and I received a lovely bunch of flowers, a key ring gift, a special desert AND and birthday cake with my name on it - and the kitchen staff singing "Happy Birthday".

This was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I have ever had. Hotel rooms are comfortable and charming and the whole building has been beautifully restored. Meals are served on a cool and pleasant rooftop and the menu has plenty of choice. The staff are fantastic - they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you want, and are ready to help you with anything from ordering your meals to giving you advice on places to visit and ordering taxis for you. A great team!

Firstly the staff are all really lovely and second it was the only hotel in six weeks travelling around India that we had proper feather pillows! The whole place has been restored and designed to a high standard and the interior design is really excellent. It is not in a glamorous neighbourhood, but it is safe and interesting. The food could be improved, but is generally pretty good. Their young chef is always willing to try and improve. This hotel deserves to do well.

This is a wonderful heritage property with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. There are great walks a few minutes from the hotel and the best walking guide available. We really enjoyed our time here and will certainly return as soon as we can.

Lovely experience staying in this boutique guest house. The rooms are individual and full of character Very comfortable and nicely appointed. The food is excellent so we found no need to go out for food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Fantastic place to stay.

We had a great stay at Calcutta Bungalow, the hotel is fantastic. The staff were incredibly helpful, the included breakfast was tasty and plentiful and our room was large and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good too. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Kolkata.

We found this hotel to be a perfect place to stay. Staff at the front desk and at the breakfast bar were super friendly and efficient. Breakfast was the highlight of our day. Any requests were dealt with promptly Beds are comfortable and the room was a good size and vety clean. Great to see an old building restored and repurposed. Good value for money.

It was an excellent stay. The stuffs were amazing. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast spread was phenomenal and the portions were huge. We could almost skip lunch everyday; we were that full. I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
