Hilton Vacation Club Beachwoods Kitty Hawk

The property was nice. We weren't real impressed by the check-in apparently, the facility was short staffed. The rooms were nice and clean, bit noisy due to the thin walls.

We liked the lake, water park and paddle boats for the kids. Beachwoods exclusive parking for beach access is nice. Need to get the big slide operational or replace with something else. Also the game room wasn't open which was disappointing for our kids. We stayed in one of the older models and it could really be felt in the floors and seen on the exterior. Overall it was a good experience with a few inconveniences.

The place has a good location and a friendly staff.BUT we paid a LUXURY SUITE thinking we will stay in a good room and have a pleasant stay but it was not. These rooms are in the first floor and we have children jumping above our heads, people walking and also the laundry common for two rooms works outside our living and we could here the machines every moment. The outside pool was out of service. We ask to change room but they told us they were full booked, we never see so many cars or people around. The bedroom had two medium windows with no curtains at all behind the bed so we ask to cover them some way and they tape a part of a box in them.

We enjoyed the crafts activities for the kids. The boats were fun and of course the water parks was Great!! 2nd time there. Would recommend staying there

Biggest issue we had with staying here was that the entire indoor water park wash shut down for renovations and this is not disclosed while booking. Then after having booked the NON REFUNDABLE reservation we received a “thank you for booking” email and buried in all the fine print mentioning that the water park is closed. Now we were stuck with this hotel. Very sneaky. If the water park is a big deciding factor for you to want your kids to have a good time, be aware. You may consider calling to check first. Kind of a pain to be calling every hotel I’m considering to book to verify everything is open as advertised :(

Our suite was spacious and very clean (except for a dead cockroach we found, which kind of ruined it). However, it was WAY older and shabbier than the pictures; the walls are super thin, so we listened to the crying children next door all week; and we paid $150 in resort fees for amenities that were almost all closed. Anyone who sees this, please turn back now!! They do not offer refunds, and there are probably 10-15 way better hotels/resorts just within a couple miles. Don’t waste your money

Pool hours were not as listed on website, and pool water slide was rusty and big slide was out of service and seemed to have been for a long time. We stayed there just for the water slides for the kids had we known only the small one worked we probably would not have stayed! And chlorine smell in pool area burned your eyes it was so strong, seemed way over treated so much so wster was very cloudy.

It was unique; there were some very noisy kids above us at night, but other than that, it was a nice property. Get the top cabin!

The property itself is super nice. Maybe it was just really busy when checking in. The unit didn’t have sheets or blankets for the pullout sofa bed. Otherwise beautiful and comfy property
