Hvoll Hostel

Hvoll Hostel is a large property that has excellent self catering facilities and plenty of seating area. There were also ample showers and toilets for the number of people. Our room was clean, comfortable and ideal for our one night stay. Check in was simplified by the owners emailing codes to access a lock box for our room key, and although we never needed their help, there were obvious notices on how to contact them. The location was a few km up a rough gravel track, but was ideally located for accessing the Ring Road. It's a great option when travelling around Iceland.

We had a really great experience with this accommodation in a situation where we really had no way out. We were stuck in a sudden massive snow storm with high winds of 70 km/h and there was no way we were going to get to their hostel, because all the roads were closed. They understood the situation and helped us immediately with the refund. What a kind gesture, it means a lot to us. Thank you!

Room was basic but clean. Bedding was sufficient and a warm room. Self checkin was easy and we appreciated the message to us to say the northern lights were outside. My only disappointment was the noise from the kitchen/common room after 11pm. It’s meant to be quiet after 11pm and people were being very loud till 3am. Therefore we had very little sleep because we had to be up at 6:40. There should be someone to check people are being quiet after this time. Not much point paying for somewhere to sleep if you don’t actually get any.

Posizione tranquilla, raggiungibile tramite una stradina sterrata dalla Ring Road. Camera piccolina, ma con tutto lo stretto necessario. Molto comodo il self check-in. Nella cucina disponibile diverse postazioni per cucinare. Ampiamente soddisfatto le aspettative!
