Lovely night away, great sized room, spotlessly clean. Great location, great breakfast. Couldn’t fault it 😃

After deciding on The Shakespeare Inn for our rugby tours final evening meal,I contacted Lee who could not have been more helpful..We chatted lots over last few months and pre ordered for our 60 odd guests..In hindsight ,60 was maybe too many to expect all meals to come out together..After all its a pub not a restaurant as such..Anyway,there were a few hiccups with some meals taking some time, but when the food arrived ,it was hot, and of fantastic quality..Roast potatoes are best myself and another guest have ever had..Lee also allowed us to pretty much have the run of the place,which created a great a**osphere for us to celebrate..I'm sure plenty was spent over the bar..The girls upfront could not have been nicer,and kindly commented on how our polite our boys were..So yes a bit hectic,and some had to wait a while..Do I regret booking here for us,not at all..Would go back anytime.

Excellent stay at the Shakespeare, room small but efficient enough for two - a bit tight if you've wet clothes though. Room service was great, all laundry changed daily, good coffee & tea and the wee fridge with fresh milk a great touch. Mike the manager and staff in the bar were great for the duration of our stay, good a**osphere whether breakfast or evening. Bar meals were 1st class and a great menu to choose from at decent prices. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Nice Bar off the main street, the entrance is down an alley to the left after which you go up stairs to the main level, though they have a downstairs room which puts you below street level, which i thought was great for people watching as your eye line is on the street level, nice vibe, food and staff.

Excellent situated in the centre of Kendal and offers car parking (free - but beware entry is narrow!). Rooms directly off the rear courtyard, so removed from any noise from the pub. Excellent breakfast (full English or Continental) included in room rate served by v friendly staff. Only downside - make sure the separately-switched extractor fan is on before showering!

Great place for a stop over for a business trip. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Perfect and what I as looking for. Great Breakfast as well

£6 for a pint of IPA. Rip off, won't be coming here again! Went to the bar to ask about it and the barmaid agreed with me and just smiled... did nothing about it. No wonder pubs are closing all oner if they're going to charge prices like this, we'll all be staying at home!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast included in price is useful and we enjoyed a cooked breakfast everyday. The continental breakfast could be improved. Not a lot of choice but ok to have a juice or fruit in addition to cooked breakfast. Sky in room but did not work and signal not great so used my iPad to watch TV when signal was bad. Tea and coffee in room very useful but a bigger fridge would be very helpful. You can’t fit more than 2 cans of coke in fridge. Overall good experience

Great evening with friends in a relaxed, friendly pub with excellent food. Couldn’t fault it especially the staff who, despite a mix up with our reservation, went the extra mile to make us welcome. I would definitely recommend The Shakespeare, myself and my friends will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely evening.
