샌디즈 바오밥 비치 잔지바르(Sandies Baobab Beach Zanzibar)

Loved being here. It is in the best location and I really enjoyed the food. Was our 2nd visit and we won't hesitate to visit again. Rooms are so clean as is the whole resort. Appreciated the kettle and mini fridge this time. Staff is always friendly. Such a relaxing atmosphere.

We have just returned from Sandies Baobab on Monday of this week after spending two weeks at this fantastic hotel, including Christmas and both of our birthdays. The hotel isn't very big which is great. The rooms are like small bungalows and are spread around the the well kept gardens. The gardeners do a marvellous job, especially in the heat and the very high humidity. Our room was perfectly situated, close to the bar, restaurant and beach. The only down side to the room was that the air-conditioning didn't perform quite as well as it could have done. We had the temperature set as low as it could go at 17 degrees C but it still felt like the late to mid 30's. We did mention this a couple of times and maintenance did look at it. Thank you. The housemaids kept our room beautifully clean and we would often return to find our bed adorned with flower petals. This was a lovely touch especially on our birthdays. The Restaurant - the food is buffet style and was lovely and there was something for everyone. No complaints from us. We would like to say thank you to all of the really wonderful staff but in particular Anna and as we liked to call him the "Omelette Man" (sorry we can't remember your name}. We would also like to mention the Christmas Eve Gala Dinner around the swimming pool and the midweek BBQ on the beach. Both were fantastic and so much work was put into them. It was certainly a different Christmas Eve for us. The Bar (located by the pool) - all of the bar staff were lovely, but we would like to mention in particular Martin and Steve who were so friendly and amiable. They had much fun with my husband (Mr Paul) especially about my husbands dislike of the plastic glasses (we fully understand why they are plastic - near the pool). Pool, Beach and Animation Staff - what a wonderful group of people you have. Nothing was too much for these guys and girls. They were such all good all rounders and could turn their hand to almost anything. They were all very friendly and attentive to the guests and made our holiday extra special. We loved talking to and having a laugh with them. They also taught us how to play Bao which we quickly became addicted to (along with many other guests) so we purchased one and brought it home with us. We can't mention everyone as there are so many but would like to say a special thank you in particular to Saleh, Mussa and Rashid. You all made our holiday very special. Security - All very smart and professional and Mr Paul loved talking to them. Just one suggestion, the staff name tags could do with updating as some staff didn't have them and others were looking a little scruffy. It is nice to know what the staff are called as we like to call them all by their name. To the owners and managers of the hotel, you should be proud of all of your staff. We just returned from Sandies and after being a little hesitant due to some reviews, we could not recommend the hotel more! The rooms are lovely with good air con and comfy beds; the food is super fresh and delicious and the staff are incredible. It’s a fairly small resort with a stunning beach and we went on a range of fantastic excursions across the island. I am disabled, using mobility aids and we were put in a room right next to the restaurant and beach, which made our stay so much more convenient. Usually I would not book a hotel which didn’t have a TV in the room but I love that we didn’t watch anything and just enjoyed each other and the holiday. We are already planning to return to Sandies and could not recommend it more. It’s not perfect - no hotel can be, especially in a country with high rates of poverty, but it is ideal for a holiday in Zanzibar.

I had read multiple reviews about the place before booking so I knew exactly what to expect. The view from breakfast was beautiful and breath taking, you can never get tired of that. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. They were very welcoming and accommodating. Upon reading the reviews I knew I might have a towel issue. Our towels were not replaced on our second night but that was not an issue because we made sure to carry our own just incase. We found it quite amusing. We didn't request for them to be replaced and they were replaced the next day without us having to issue that directive. The breakfast was very nice, I wish the drinks were more chilled but I enjoyed the wide aray of pastries as well as the warm smiles of the staff during service. We decided to treat ourselves with dinner at the the hotel during our last night. Our meals took a really long time to come and so we missed the acrobatic performance which we were looking forward to seeing. Over all I would recommend and stay here again. It was a pleasant vacation despite the hiccup at dinner.

Nous sommes actuellement sur place en famille et nous y passons un excellent moment . J’avoue ne pas comprendre les commentaires négatifs car : - plage magnifique - personnel agréable et souriant - buffets très bons et locaux avec des plats de zanzibar , des produits frais Effectivement la chambre est un petit peu vieillotte mais tout à fait comfortable. Je recommande sans hésitation

Viaggio di nozze insieme a una bimba di quasi due anni. Consigliatissimo!! Super pulito, personale sempre sorridente disponibile e cortese, cibo davvero davvero ottimo e vario. Spiaggia bellissima poco soggetta alla bassa marea. “Asante sana” ragazzi! Giulia Davide & Aurora

Sa situation au bord de l'une des plus belles plages de Zanzibar, au nord-ouest de l'île, est la seule vraie satisfaction qu'on éprouve dans cet établissement, qui ressemble plus à un Club Med vieillissant (comme dans Les Bronzés). "Animation musicale" plein tube jusqu'à 23 h chaque soir, juste en face des chambres/studios annoncés comme "de luxe". Restaurant moyen qui ressemble plus à une grande cantine, dans laquelle les produits de pêche locaux sont quasi inexistants. Un personnel certes très disponible et aimable. Mais pas du niveau d'un 4 étoiles !

Ho alloggiato in questo villaggio tra l'ultima settimana di febbraio e la prima di marzo 2024. Il villaggio è bellissimo! La stanza pulita e ben arredata, piccolina ma con davvero tutto il necessario, e bagno davvero molto grazioso; ogni giorno veniva pulita e rifatta alla perfezione, compresi gli asciugamani e la carta igienica (e super profumata, dotata di aria condizionata). Abbiamo avuto un piccolo problema con lo sciacquone de WC, ma appena abbiamo contattato la reception è stato subito risolto. Chicca del villaggio è la zona colazione pranzo e cena, che si affaccia sulla spiaggia e su un mare a dir poco meraviglioso. Personale eccellente, parlano inglese ma si arrangiano bene anche con l'italiano; molto gentili, cordiali, attenti, e sempre con il sorriso pronti a farti stare il meglio possibile. Cibo buono, molto vario, e serate a tema molto belle (una sera abbiamo cenato sulla spiaggia, wow); bevande varie sia analcoliche che alcoliche (i succhi alla frutta fresca sono top!!). L'ingresso del villaggio meraviglioso, zona bar molto grande e ben organizzata, e la piscina davvero bella con vista sulla spiaggia e gli ombrelloni. La spiaggia del villaggio è decisamente tra le migliori, e non soffre delle maree, regalando un mare calmo, pulito, e caldo. Un grazie speciale va allo staff, e anche ai beach boys, perchè sono veramente dolcissimi e simpaticissimi. Abbiamo deciso di fare le escursioni con loro (in particolare cito Sebo, Louis, Sindaco, Cicciobello, e molti altri, compresi i Masai) e ci hanno trattato con i guanti; offrendo esperienze curate nel dettaglio, con il sorriso, la conoscenza dei luoghi, la precisione, e sempre dell'ottima frutta e dell'ottimo cibo preparato da loro!! Con poco son felici, e credetemi che fa la differenza, e soprattutto impossibile non affezionarsi se si parla con loro e ci si diverte in loro compagnia. In ogni caso anche il villaggio offre escursioni davvero molto belle, tra cui la visita ad una scuola, esperienza che resta nel cuore. Tornerò sicuramente, e lo farò in questo meraviglioso posto!! Grazie davvero!!!

Sono appena rientrata da Zanzibar, ho alloggiato al Sandies Baobab, struttura molto bella e caratteristica, camere grandi, pulite e luminose, molto tranquillo e situato su una delle spiagge più belle dell’isola. Vacanza rilassante, NIENTE ZANZARE! In compenso un sole cocente, caldo pauroso, anche l’acqua del mare era caldissima ma trasparente come il vetro (a parte le alghe che ci hanno rovinato il bagno per un paio di giorni). Nota dolente il cibo, cuoco indiano, quasi tutto molto speziato e camerieri molto POLA POLA…… Tutto sommato bella vecanza ma con il 99% di italiani presenti suggerirei una cucina più internazionale.
