La Cote Saint Jacques

Continues to be a really good experience. Great welcome. We had a huge, beautiful room in the main hotel with exposed roof beams. The wonderful restaurant doesnt disappoint. We hope to return … again.

A perfect stay from A to Z. The "voiturier" expected us when we arrived! A very cosy room looking out to the Yonne river, a very professional, friendly staff at every contact. And the best: the kitchen is outstanding. The "maitre des lieux" and grand chef, J.M. Lorain, waits for you after dinner to know if you truly enjoyed the experience. Well, yes we truly did.

The hotel is beautiful, sat right on the river with spacious rooms, providing gorgeous views. We enjoyed a large balcony bathed an afternoon, sun, spacious room with luxurious linens. Our trip to the spa was quite enjoyable with excellent facilities and attentive staff. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Presented as a top luxury hotel, part of the Relais Chateaux group, la Cote St Jacques has an old fashioned design, with a very poor style in the suite we stayed in (room 24). Although very spacious, the room is decorated with plastic flowers, an outdated TV from the 90s, strangely positioned right in the middle of the suite with a chandelier just on top of it, brownish aluminum frames all over, and a simili leather couch. There is no radio or Bluetooth audio and the capsules compatible with the Nespresso machine are made with cheap coffee. It feels like a cheap hotel room which pretends to be a castle. For such a high price (€650 per night) you can get a much better experience in any other 5 star hotel. This is all the more disappointing as the service was amazingly friendly and efficient, from room service to spa, to the concierge and catering team. And this review would not be fair without saying that the 2 star Michelin one of the best we've been to.

1 day visit for lunch and spa. The decor is very cosy and confortable and understood the dining room had been recently fully renovated (the decor is very chic, the outside light and scenery is reflected by mirrors which give an impressive feeling of space). I treat myself with the 4 main dishes and 2 deserts menu just to make sure I didn’t mis anything Was a fantastic experience from the beginning to the end with surprising mix and flavours and an amazing way to present the dishes. The service is very high standard: very kind, knowledgeable, discreet. Special bravo for the young staff.

Unfortunately despite the website we had unpleasant experience. We had a couples of issue at the hotel in regards to the room and no one helped. The communication in English was very poor. And no activities for kids. For what we paid we did not received the service back.

Having spent a good deal of money on the room and with the 5 star rating and the Michelin restaurant reputation I had high hopes. First disappointment was that the room was very tired, second was that the much hailed Spa was not in full use, no sauna or steam room, upon enquiring why the staff simply said they had forgotten to turn it on, third was that it took 15 minutes for me to find a member of staff working in the bar so we could order a drink, the first member of staff I found said it was not his job and disappeared, other staff were wrapped up in their paperwork and virtually ignored me. The last disappointment was breakfast, totally overpriced and given its Michelin status the chef cant cook eggs, both ours and our friends had poached eggs which were still raw inside. The hype does not live up to the actual experience here and I hope you have deep pockets, if you run a 5 star hotel you need to make sure your guests get the 5 star experience and in this case we did not. We shall not be returning.

We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Our room at 335 Euros was spacious & modern with an amazing patio which overlooked the river. Unfortunately it rained on our stay and we could not take full advantage . The gentleman who greeted us, took our luggage to the room & valet parked the car was extremely polite & efficient. The canapés with our pre dinner drinks where exc We had the Menu Decouverte at 175 Euros. Cuisine, service & restaurant ambience superb. Amazing illuminated fish statues in the garden.ellent & some of the best we had during our 11 night Relais & Chateaux holiday. We will definitely return when we are visiting this area again. un séjour sublime tout était parfait. Merci à Pâquerette pour son accueil bienveillance et professionnalisme et attention. Toute l'équipe de la cote St Jacques est remarquable; Le repas fut sublime, le petit déjeuner également et le cadre enchanteur. Nous reviendrons à la cote St Jacques très certainement. Les chambres de l'hotel relais et chateau sont très spacieuse et très confortable la terrasse sur la rivière sont d'un excellent confort claude aimé coquard
