베드 & 바이크 쿠라사오 - 잔 티엘(Bed & Bike Curacao - Jan Thiel)

We have spent 3 weeks staying at your facilities. *They stole our belongings from the refrigerator; 5 beers, juices and bread. In monetary value it is not relevant but the way in which the administration of the place reacted is. It is indicated that there are cameras which for the purposes of solving were not valid. It feels like someone can grab anything and take it and no one will do anything to stop it. It was reported to the Manager, 5 days before we left. We could not contact him on any of the days, strange hours or he was not present at the place. *Excessive staff turnover, every day someone different to resolve questions or problems, I understand that they are all interns for short periods of time. Employees are the visible face of the company. *No security at night. It was possible for outsiders to enter the facilities. In fact, there were strange movements at night as cars arrived, picked up things, and left. *Fights at night, there were people staying in the place who fought in the early morning. Since there was no one controlling it, I was able to understand that there were two nights that were impossible to sleep. No one to take responsibility. *On holidays, the state of the pool was deplorable. Even fries in it. The excuse was that the maintenance guys didn't come. the client pays for a service not for excuses. Ditto the issue of the garbage accumulated next to the kitchen for 4 days.

Close to beach, docks/cruises/activities. Room service was lacking, required multiple trips to front desk. Very cute property layout and rooms/houses. Friendly staff. Far from Willemstad city centre so not a lot of taxis come by, especially at night time (past 9 pm).

Incredible hostel! I can’t get over how cute it is. The staff is amazing. The food is great and you also have a kitchen to use which has been so helpful. We did a friend trip with 4 of us and got the room with 2 queen beds. The ladder to the loft I don’t recommend using after some adult beverages lol. But overall loved everything!

When booking the room: - I needed a refrigerator. The room had no frige when I asked where the frige is, the check in said you need to rent one and all friges were rented. So I had to put my stuff in their kitchen where everyone goes. - i rented a Loft room. The 2nd bed is upstair and omg the stairs!!!!! - no one to help with the luggage. And with all the stairs. I had to bring the luggages all by myself. - the booking said, "airport transfer". I paid usd 60 for the airport transfer which was also a horrible ride. No more bed & bike for us. This hotel is good for backpackers.

During our stay at this bed and bike property, we encountered a few ups and downs. We initially arrived at the wrong location, but the receptionist was incredibly nice and directed us to the correct property without any hassle. Unfortunately, I left my passport at the previous check-in, but the staff promptly noticed and informed me before I reached the other property. They not only notified me but also arranged for its delivery the next day, which was a thoughtful gesture. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the early check-in option. We were able to safely store our luggage and even the bouquet of flowers I had brought along. The room itself was impressively clean, along with the rest of the property. However, the shared kitchen area was a bit of a letdown. It was initially dirty and had an unpleasant smell, likely due to the other guests. Thankfully, the condition improved over the next two days. The hotel staff was friendly and approachable, contributing to the overall positive experience. The property had a modern and clean ambiance, making it perfect for those seeking a comfortable bed and a clean pool to relax after a day of exploring. Additionally, the availability of parking facilities was convenient. To our pleasant surprise, the housekeeping service was exceptional. Each day, we returned to a neatly made bed and fresh towels, surpassing our expectations. The attention to detail and commi**ent to ensuring our comfort left a lasting impression on us.

Very clean room with helpful and kind staff. Would stay again and would recommend to others.

Very noisy place. The place is nice, the room are small but clean. Beds are very hard. Pool nice and clean. No coffee machine or fridge in the room. Good for young people because of the hostel kind of vibe. That means no respect of others at night, people partying until 3 am. Service at front desk is average. The food at the restaurant was terrible. The bikes condition was disappointing. Jan Thiel beach is disappointing too, you have to rent chairs for an exorbitant price. It is not a natural beach. Better off going to the public beach near Brisa do Mar restaurant. Very expensive for what you get.

It pains me to write this review, as most of my 5-day stay was splendid, and all of the other staff were lovely. However, on my friend and mine's final night, we had a roommate in the shared female dorm who told us that she had a lung infection (the day after she arrived, which was deeply inconsiderate). My friend, myself, and another roommate of ours went to ask the front desk if they could speak with her about possibly relocating. We were understandably concerned about someone having a respiratory illness while COVID is still very much present. The man who was working (he refused to give his name, but this was the evening of April 4th, 2023) went to speak with her and returned to the desk saying she said she just had a cold, even though she told us otherwise. I calmly explained to him that we were concerned she had serious COVID symptoms, and he immediately became defensive and quite aggressive with us. He shouted at me saying "COVID is over!" and said "What if I told you I had a lung infection? Would you accuse me of having COVID?" At this point, we became angry and explained that we weren't comfortable entering the room to get our belongings, including my mask, and I asked if he had a mask I could use which he responded by saying I could walk into town to the pharmacy (which was closed, since this was 9 pm) and buy one myself. I asked him what the hostel's COVID policy was, and he said they didn't have one, even though there was a poster next to the desk that explicitly required guests to report all symptoms. When I showed him the poster, he said I could call the public health authority number and laughed saying "It doesn't work though". He then said that the other guest had a negative test result, so I went into the room with a shirt over my face and asked her if she did and she said she did not (she was coughing aggressively when I came into the room). I finally became so aggravated that I told the man that I was willing to pay for the other person to have a private room (as it would be easier than me, my friend, and our other roommate moving out) and he said I was more than welcome. He then called security over to the desk to try and intimidate us, and after I stood our ground, he finally booked her into a private room (and thankfully didn't charge me). He never apologized to any of us, did nothing to clean or air out the room, and was absolutely the rudest hostel manager I have ever encountered in over 10 years of staying in hostels around the world. The fact that he is even employed by this establishment is shocking and should serve as a warning to other guests to look elsewhere when they stay in Curaçao.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The property is well laid out with lots of sitting areas and a great pool. So nice to have lots of ice available and a kitchen and fridge to use. Excellent storage and comfortable bed in the room. Everything was clean and well maintained. Located in a nice neighborhood. They offer a car rental on site that worked out well. The only downside was the state of the bikes. They were in tough shape but we managed to keep two going while we were there. Excellent trails to ride around the Jan Thiel saltpan. Really enjoyed the trails, also nice for walking through.
