Superb peaceful place ✅

This charming hotel is located just in front of the wall of the Jaisalmer Fort, with amazing view of the illuminated walls from the roof top restaurant, a short walk from the gate of the old city, worth a 2 day visit to discovery the most stunning cenotaphs, great havelis, fort museum, rich Jain temples. We had a spacious recently renovated suite, with a separate living room (or bedroom) and a roof top terrace with a view of the Fort. The staff was most welcoming and provided personalized service. The breakfast was very good.

This hotel is great. The rooms [I cannot recall the category we booked] were massive with wonderful warm showers. The service from the staff is outstanding. The owner is on site and is a good ***. They also have a lovely beagle called Simba; he’s very gentle. The buffet breakfast is fresh and more than enough. We found the lunch and dinner at the roof top restaurant really good. The food was tasty and best of all, they catered to my daughter’s gf needs without any problem. All waiting and kitchen staff understand the gf diet and food is prepared safely. Their whole operation is very impressive. The view of the fort is magnificent from the roof top. The location of the hotel to the fort gate is very close. You can walk in about 2-5 minutes [5 minutes if you’re slow]. I cannot say anything negative about our stay. The furnishings in this hotel are so warm and showcase rajasthan’s furniture style.

I think this must be the same as the 1st Gate Hotel just outside the Jaisalmer city wall. We were actually here for lunch, which was quite good on a lovely terrace. The place is popular with foreign tourists. There was one small issue when we were there in that there was some kind of a shouting match between a group of male customers and the ***agement. Actually, most of the shouting seems to have come from the male customers. Eventually, police were called in. It was uncomfortable for us and seemed to be about pretty much nothing

1st Gate was exceptional. I really recommend staying here if you want some peace away from the city. The interior design was so tasteful. Felt really smart and consistent colour palette around the hotel. As soon as you walk in, there is a gorgeous smell of mint. The room was spacious, smart and very comfortable. I really recommend the rooftop restaurant it is absolutely delicious. We ate every meal in Jaisalmer there. The food was exceptional. The breakfast is also very good. A huge selection and during the day you can help yourself to cold drinks and freshly baked slices of cake. The service at First gate was excellent. First Gate was a highlight of my time in India. The gym was good. I also had the most amazing massage here. She was incredible. The oils smelt amazing! I really hope to return here again next year. A luxurious hotel amongst the spectacular spiritual energy of Jaisalmer.

This is a Unique Boutique hotel. 11 classic suits. The owner and his family and staff take care of the property. They have a amazing Italian Restaurant at the top. Rate the Pizzas best in Rajasthan and not surprising tourists from even Marriott visit to dine. The staff and family go out of their way to care. My son wanted to taste Ghevar- A local sweet, The staff arranged the best in town. I needed asthma medicine and the family arranged this and medicine delivery machine as well. Its located next to the fort and a great way to explore the fort. Kudos to ***oj Purohit and his family and staff.

Amazing service. Staff is very nice and caring. The owner, ***oj, is very friendly, a pleasure to talk to and takes care of all guests. We enjoyed this stay very much, it felt like home. The rooms were spacious and very nicely decorated.

First of all would like to say that we did not stay at 1st Gate but nature called and we went in to use the facilities and after went into the restaurant to have a drink as it would be deemed rude not too. So so glad we did as we would not have met the wonderful ***oj (co-owner) and his lovely sweet dog called Simba (beagle) ***oj was a *** of wise words and intelligence we talked for over an hour or so over a few cups of coffee and green tea!! I will always remember that day and the wise words spoken. He was so welcoming, warm, humble and kind he did not take anything for our drinks. It's not about the money but the impression he left on us. We wouldvdefinitely stay at 1st Gate if we go back to jaisalmer thank you for your wonderful company and hospitality ***oj and staff.

The best hotel I have stayed in while touring India! Huge very clean rooms, super comfortable beds and fantastic friendly staff. The roof top restaurant is excellent and has a fabulous view of the fort and Jaisalmer. 100% recommend you stay here!!!!
