엘리먼츠 오브 디 아일랜드(Elements of the Island)

Sharing my bad experience with this property. On 1/21/24, Elements of the Island (EOTI) confirmed my reservation for the 2nd floor unit for 6 nights (3/2 - 3/8) and accepted my deposit of $200.00 USD. On 2/28/24 (3 days before arriving), Madjid contacted me to tell me that he just realized that he had double-booked the room. He offered to find me another place to stay, free breakfast at his cafe during my stay as well as one night free lodging on 3/7 (apparently, the room was available on this date). What EOTI did NOT offer me was the immediate return of my deposit. Only after demanding it back was it returned. While it is possible that the double booking was an honest mistake, it is NOT an honest mistake to fail to offer the return of a customer's deposit, which I provided in good faith. More likely, Madjid gave the room to someone else who offered a better deal. Fortunately, I was able to find somewhere else to stay, but this last-minute change of plans was extremely stressful and inconvenient for me. I do not recommend booking at this property unless you are comfortable with having your reservation cancelled at the last minute.

This is our second time stay in one of the apartments at Elements of the Island. We loved it just as much this time as the last. It is a five minute walk to the ferry, Playa Centro, Playa Norte and the Hildalgo. Each unit has a king sized bed, mini fridge, sink, coffee pot, toaster and a 5 gallon jug of water. The private bathroom has a great shower with great hot water and water pressure. The AC works amazing. The unit also has 2 ceiling fans, a TV, couch and small table. One of the best perks is that they provide bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas. Renting this is very expensive now at the beach clubs, so this was a great way to enjoy the beach at various spots. We cannot thank Monica, Yoly, Jesus and Madjid enough for the hospitality that they showed us.

Fresh and affordable, my two favorite things. We stumbled upon this little spot and decided to stop for breakfast .... and it was the right decision! I had mixed fruit with yogurt and granola and a glass of fresh OJ- both were delicious! My partner had oats with milk and fruit which he said was fantastic. Servings are large and tons of locals stop and chat. I would happily return for another round of breakfast.

This hotel is simply lovely. Our room was large, clean and well equipped. There is a beautiful little garden and a terrace on the roof. Madjid, the owner, was very helpful and gave us a lot of tips to make our time on Isla Mujeres as fun as possible. The hotel is very central, but in a quiet street. There is a little café where you can get a yummy breakfast and coffee.

We came here for breakfast and I was impressed. The food tasted great, orange juice was natural and this was some of the best breakfast I’ve had in a while. It’s a small area with one server and two cooks but they were attentive to everyone and brought the food out quickly.

The property was in the perfect location. Very friendly owner. Recommend for everyone.

This property and the fantastic owner far exceeded our expectations. Super clean, great location and the restaurant was a fantastic place to have breakfast! From the beach umbrella and chairs provided to daily housekeeping, we would highly recommend a stay here! Thank you Majid for a wonderful stay! We will see you next time! Cheers, Tanja and Bob

This place was everything we needed and more. Its location is perfect! Rooms are great, clean, and comfortable. I love that its such a small property that it feels peaceful. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was nice and attentative. The owner greeted us upon arrival and provided suggestions to sightsee and places to eat. I would come back here for sure!

The host was very friendly and accommodating. The AC was poor and needs adjustments because it did not cool off the entire room, I woke up sweating in the middle of the night several times during my stay. Water pressure in the shower was mediocre, but can’t expect much since it is an old building. The cleaning lady also was very nice and cleaned daily, however my main concern were the bed bug bites I experienced. I really hope they focus on cleaning and washing their sheets regularly. I would definitely like to stay here again, but only if they pay attention to washing their entire linens thoroughly; bed spreads, bottom and top sheets and pillow cases.
