It is 4am and I am currently staying at this hotel. Just woke up to the realisation that I am in a big fancy room with basically the clothes I was wearing my nightclothes and my phone. Told if I leave the room then I ain’t getting back in. This review is nothing against the hard working staff of this hotel and the amount of people that TUI pack in to it these guys work their socks off hope they are getting paid a decent wage. TUI advertise this as a ‘Platinum’ hotel but don’t let that fool you. What that means is you get cheap everything all inclusive. Check out the definitions of TUI hotels on Google. Anyway after having indulged in the cheap all inclusive and returning to our basic garden view room 411 next to the Vulcano disco we discovered our bathroom was flooded. We contacted reception and obviously at that time of night no maintenance people were available. The guy at reception was very apologetic but basically we were told either put up with it or we can move you to probably the only other available room (it was mobbed with new people) but if you leave that room you won’t get back in! Hence I am sitting in my penthouse apartment prison with no access to any of my belongings. There was no way we could have stayed in our booked room tonight it was an absolute hazard and inhabitable. So will stick it out tonight to see how the hotel deal with this in a few hours. Rui whoever answers your reviews please do put the usual platitudes on Trip Advisor this is beyond that. One very unhappy customer ☹️

Has a five day break at the hotel.Haven't stayed in a Riu hotel for sometime Now. For a short break it was good but think we couldn't stay longer than a week . Food was ok but has much better AI's..also by the end of the week it was already getting crazy in the restaurant so not really is anymore ! I can imagine in the summer it being really crazy ! Thing is it's a huge restaurant but has to cater what looks like two hotels made into one and maybe a restaurant in the other side would help elevate how busy it is .. Our room was lovely with view of the garden on a single floor.great location not to close to the centre but not far away either with a good walk possible .Staff where some of the nicest of hotel staff we've met helpfully and professional at all times and super clean hotel.Pools where lovely if a tad cold but still really good sizes plenty of beds but again could imagine at the height of the season would be busy . Overall a good stay but stayed in nicer Riu's.

Our first vist to Lanzarote and this RUI hotel. Definitely the place to stay. On arrival, check in was smooth, easy and quick. The hotel is immaculate, the staff are friendly, efficient and work very hard. Our room was lovely, with a balcony and partial sea view. Cleaned daily. Ample sun loungers, and seating around the pools. There is lots of choice when it comes to food, with snack bars open throughout the day. We received a complimentary RIU beach/pool bag, which I thought was a very kind gesture. We also received a bottle of bubbly for my birthday. An absolutely brilliant hotel........we will definitely be returning to this hotel.

This was are 3rd time stopping at this hotel. For families this hotel is brilliant, so much going on for them to keep them entertained. Rooms- we requested to stop at the quiet side which we prefer as it’s much quieter at night, this would not be ideal for people who are hard of walking as it’s quite a walk to restaurants and entertainment at night. Rooms are clean and has a big shower and bathroom. Food/restaurants- the buffet had plenty to choose from everyday at dinner and tea time. Food quality in here was great for an all inclusive. Asian restaurant- we was disappointed this year with this restaurant. This is usually are favourite and we usually go to it at least 3 times in our stay. This year the quality had really dropped. A couple of people we got talking to said the same that they didn’t enjoy it. But still worth a try as the sushi there is still good. Canarian restaurant- we have still never tried. But everyone who goes says it’s good. Peppis- great for grabbing snacks around the pool. But same as the Chinese, the burgers this year didn’t seem to be as good, it’s like they have changed to lower quality meat. Animation team/entertainment- first thing is a massive shoutout to Martin who was brilliant looking after kids, he’s a credit to this hotel, from morning to night he keeps the kids entertained. Also Amy who does the kids disco and kids club is brilliant. The rest of the team are so good keeping the adults entertained during the day. They all work so hard. The first thing my son would say when he woke up was is it time for kids club, it’s great as there is sun lounges outside the kids club so you can keep a eye on them whilst there in there which I think is great. Location/recommendations - it’s in a great location, come out back gate, turn left 15 min walk your at the shops and bars in matagorda or turn right 15 min walk your at the start of the ***** (spoons) in puerto del carmen. We would recommend trying if you go out.. Devon for Sunday lunch in matagorda it was superb, but book in advance as it gets really busy. If you fancy a bit of a walk you can go and watch the planes land, we went in the morning and stopped of at o’sheas for breakfast which was fantastic. Highlander too bar is great for a day out. They do a family entertainment day on a Wednesday at 3pm. Bingo,quiz and all sorts of other games it was a great day out. But get a taxi here, as we found out we walked and it’s up some big hills was hard work with a buggy. It cost €6 to get a taxi home so well worth getting one. Complaints- these are only minor and wouldn’t put me off coming back. When on the quieter side, I would love somewhere in the morning to get a hot drink, I had to walk to the other side of hotel, would love to have just been able to grab one and bring it back to room and sit on balcony with it. I know you have kettle in room but it’s much nicer out of machine and not waking everyone else up making one. Kids disco and entertainment

Fantastic stay at this hotel. Could not fault any aspect of our stay . Would definitely return to this hotel . The location was perfect

Lovely week for our 2nd visit...every where was very clean..rooms were so comfortable... staff worked so hard and always had a smile for you. Food was OK.. could have been better..always found something to eat...cakes could have been better. Can't comment on entertainment because we never went..had read reviews about people getting bit off mosquitos so we went out for walks on a night.. We were on the quiet side of the hotel..pool and snack bar was very good... We had a very relaxing holiday..just what we needed and would definitely return 😃

Stayed here before so knew we would be made welcome. Very clean rooms, beds very comfortable and food plentiful with great choice. A few young children so no problem with noise late at night with revellers coming home ! Upstairs bar nice and quiet, all children and families at the downstairs bar and entertainment area. Would highly recommend.

I'm currently in chemotherapy and had a gap in treatment where we decided to jet away. We've been visiting the island for over 20 years but it was our first stay at the Riu Paraiso. I can't say enough for the staff of this hotel. Every single one of them was positive and welcoming. We had a lovely garden-view room, and really comfortable bed. There was consistent quality in the buffet for each meal, and always plenty choice. And the nightly entertainment was varied. I really needed somewhere to rest, sleep, do some gentle swimming and really recuperate and I was so grateful for all of that, but there were others around us who had everything they needed to enjoy a far more active holiday too with all the sports and activities organised by the animation team for both children and adults. We went home totally refreshed and will 100% be returning to this hotel.
