Excellent stay. Enjoyed food in the evening in the pub and in the restaurant and excellent breakfasts. Jamie was both helpful and charming on the day we were leaving; I am sure she was both those things on other days too but I did not have the pleasure of interacting with her then. Our room was quite large, everything worked and it had good heat and views. I would be glad to stay here again.

Cute historic building, great home base to access Loch Ness. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and spacious. Great water pressure in the shower. The staff were friendly but seemed a little harried— maybe a little short-staffed? It didn’t impact our stay.

I have never had experienced such a warm and friendly staff at any hotel before. I wish we had more time to stay at this lovely quaint location, but had to go on to our next stop. Such a wonderful place to go I highly recommend.

Stayed at the Benleva after hiking Ben Nevis earlier in the day. We were hoping for a long hot shower, a good meal and a comfy bed. Happy to report all 3 were available. We were checked in by Michael who was lovely and really couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was enormous and comfortable, in fact it was so big it could have done with just one more light as it was quite dark with the curtains closed. We ate dinner in the bar rather than the restaurant to soak up the a**osphere. I had the black pudding and haggis bon bons which were delicious. The bar was open late and by 10pm was filled with locals, I was a bit concerned that our sleep would be disturbed due to their late licence on a Saturday night, but we didn't hear a peep once back in our room and I slept like a log all night. Breakfast was enormous and tasty, we had a lovely chat with Michael's mum who was helping out serving and she recommended a few things to do in the village before we headed home. If we are ever back in the area I would definitely stay here again. Thank you we had a great time.

We got here after a long trek, and looking forward to a good rest We had to start spending half an hour because the Hotel kept insisting we have 't paid. It took Several phone calls to finally get this fixed. Yep . We paid a long time ago..... Rooms are dark and small. The hotel is ...a bit run down.. The attached pub is fine and is a cool play The breakfast was huge,but with more volume than style. But served in a dark cellar. All in all,this might be an charming old hotel, but on our visit it seemed more likely to be visited by an Angry Gordon Ramsay... But we might just have been unlucky

Benleva Hotel was wonderful. Great service and food. The room was spacious and the bathroom has been updated recently. Pub was excellent after a week of walking. The staff was so friendly. If you are doing the Great Glen Way I would recommend it.

Great experience. Really felt welcomed and taken care of. Michael (the manager) was especially friendly and helpful. Room was simple but exactly what we expected for a night with my wife and two teenagers. We enjoyed the free breakfast and conversation with the staff… and we even got a fantastic spontaneous tour of the mini brewery behind the hotel by the brew master, Alan!

The last stop the night before the 19 mile section of the Great Glen way. Could we get a good night's sleep ? Well, it started ok, but at 11pm what seemed like four rooms all checked in at once, all on our floor, yabbering away, slamming doors as people do. I'd like to think we could have been put in a room away from them as I dont think there was anyone above us, but no, they kept us awake for another hour at least. The room was ok, a decent bed, quite a bit of space, desk, tea coffee, not too far out of town. Old but with modern enough decor that you didnt think it was too much of a timewarp. Decent price. Breakfast though... didnt start until 8am. No option to grab and go or a packed lunch, and we had to be off at 7.30 latest due to aforementioned 19 mile section of the walk. Other people were up and off at the same time as us too, so I guess a few people missed out on the "included" breakfast. Even the B+B the day before started at 7am...

Short version; Hotel locked, no emergency number, at least 12 booked guests had to scramble for other accommodation. Longer version: Having booked well in advance, my daughter and I arrived at the Benleva in the afternoon at around 3:30PM, but the door was locked. Several other guests came during the next hours, and at the end we were like 12 persons with reservations waiting outside in the rain. No one answered the phone at the hotel and no one could be seen inside. We were frankly worried that an employee was inside in a medical emergency and called the police as well, who promised to take care of the situation. After two hours, we all decided to find other accommodation. This morning, I called the hotel just to check if everything was alright and now they answered. It turned out that the staff wasn’t in agreement on who should meet the day before - and they didn’t have an emergency number for the management. Instead, they left bunch of guests hanging. So incredibly unprofessional. Don’t ever, never book here!
