A Gem in mwanza on lake Victoria it was a amazing stay very quiet n peaceful every single penny n every single moment was worth staying all day long birds singing n cool breeze with a beautiful mesmerizing lake view n the dinning experience was Grt as the restaurant is well placed at times u see the water moving n u feel like u r in a boat n boat is moving the food was yum especially fish n chips menu is nice n all the activities is also very good u can collectively enjoy outdoor activities with family or friends trust me u won’t get bored at all n the staff very super friendly n helpful n big thanks to lassanti she was like ever smiling n always thr to assist us thank u waghill it was a Grt stay hope to be there again …

No, no no, and again, no. For the price, we literally just sat in the dark from 6pm to 10 pm and went to bed. The food was fine, the rooms were fine and view/location were beautiful. But the infrastructure is falling apart (a *huge* tree branch laden with about 15 potted plants cracked and fell 3 metres from where we were standing - for no reason but age - we would have been severely injured should any of us be standing underneath). The power went out - that's not unusual - but there's no generator, no solar lights (eco lodge?) and not even a candle or lantern to get us back to our tent. The best part of the place was one person - the waiter - who moved heaven and earth to try to deal with the constant calamities - but where were the manager / reception? We tried to call them several times (no electricity means no wifi, by the way); we tried to call reception - she had gone home. Tried to call the manager - he *hung up the phone* on the waiter twice. Clearly didn't care at all. We were told on check-in that Agoda (our booking agent) was taking the money and not paying the property; and what were we going to do about that - we should have left then. Even, when seeing the horrid state of the road, all washed out in places, and quite dangerous - we should have turned around then. This place has lost whatever glow it once had. A final note? No eco centre should host a sad zoo with a few mal-treated 'local' animals like lions, zebra and camels (???). Heartbreaking and so so so sad for those animals.

We have enjoyed alot, gained the best experience ever with astonishing moments, top of the notch. Waghill is really a place to be, finest accommodation, best meals ever and so much more we have enjoyed in the Chris**as packages like Hiking, Boat riding, Camel ride, Horse riding, zoo visiting and animal feeling. The experience will live forever in my family.

Such a beautiful place to discover, the zoo is an additional attraction, feeding them is amazing experience.Staff are humble, polite over all 10 stars cottages are a relaxing expereince..a must visit.

it's was my first time to been in Mwanza I was so happy because I choose to stay in beautiful place everything was nature so nice view, nice rooms, delicious food and drinks friendly staff nice walk to massai boma I had unforgettable memories me and my boyfriend 😊 thank you all for your kindness 😊

Excellent attentive service. Food was well cooked and seasoned. Accommodations were spacious and private. Surrounded by nature and wildlife. Very little disposable items in line with its eco-lodge identity. Very romantic and secluded, about 25 minutes out of town. My only complaint is that they house caged animals in a very small zoo. This is not inline with modern environmental initiatives to keep nature natural. I would hesitate to book again as I do not wish to support animals in captivity.

My son and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Wag Hill Lodge and eco-friendly and unique lodge located in the hills and shore of Lake Victoria in Mwanza. It was an unforgettable experience and my son. From the surrounding rocks, green hills, pleasant and welcoming staff, sounds of beautiful birds a lake view cottage, and delicious food made our stay truly memorable. On the whole, we enjoyed the hospitality, I can’t wait to return on my next visit. Highly recommend.

First impressions matter ... and they were mediocre at best. Unfriendly reception, no water to wash hands and - the only place we were on our 3-week tour through Tanzania - nothing to drink was offered. Second impressions were better. Staff more friendly and helpful, location stunning and really, really beautiful. The tents were ok and clean, but we had seen better. The food was ok/good, but quite complicated to arrange. That one is not allowed to drink a beer in the restaurants but may do so in ones romm seems more than strange and should clearly be noted on the website. All in all a mostly positive experience but we wont be back.
