The Premier Le Reve in Hurgada is a very good hotel. Our stay there was very pleasant. Family members are now booking there as a result of our recommendation. The staff are superb - always pleasant, polite and going the extra mile. There was only one member of staff who appeared inattentive - unfortunate that was at the reception. The pool and beach area are very well looked after and spotlessly clean. We had one of the top end suites at the front of the hotel with excellent views. It was well designed and comfortable with lots of space. However, there were a number of defects in the room that were a little disappointing when one considers this is billed as a 5 star hotel and our type suite was considered the best in the hotel (by staff). These faults included: water damage on one wall; broken bathroom blind which was discoloured and probably see through-able at night time; poorly sealed fire water sprinkler, scuff marks on bottom of bath casement (not cleaned); balcony jacuzzi did not work (no instructions and no hot water). The food at the hotel was also good to very good. There was a lot of variety, very hygienic and very well presented. I would have liked to see more Egyptian food - Kusheri was served once but Moroccan Tagine dishes nightly!? Also, where was the amazing large, flat, brown-flour Egyptian bread which is even better than Naan bread in my opinion!? And whilst the baclawa sweet dishes were not to be faulted there were large amounts of cake and mouse style dishes that were full of unhealthy artificial colourings and tasted of nothing. The hotel really needs to look at its sweet dishes - proper ginger cake; date slice, Victoria sponges, trifle, scones, etc. Focus on classic English puddings - it would really add value. This is a quiet hotel. No loud discos, entertainment, etc. We will definitely consider visiting again if the hotel can respond positively to our suggestions (we’ll even send them our pudding recipes if they are interested).
