Tues/Wed May 28/29 ... Loved the room, No.4 , spotless. Appreciated double glazing, did not hear the church bells ... Bed so, so comfy ... Chris & Julie excellent hosts, breakfast delicious 😋 ... Highly recommended ... Free car parking a bonus ...

I cannot praise this establishment highly enough. The facilities are excellent and the food is of a very high quality. In addition to this the hosts are wonderful and cannot do enough to help. I would certainly use the Sandygate again if I found myself in the area. Truly exceptional.

Had a delightful overnight stay in a double room facing the pretty street. Very comfortable bed. Pristine bedding and the perfect temperature for a cool October evening. The bright shower room and powerful shower was a pleasure. The entire establishment was cleaned to the highest spec. Even the carpet was immaculate, which is not always the case in popular hotels and guest houses. The breakfast was served hot and delicious and prompt. I would highly recommend this guest house and will opt to stay here whenever visiting the area. Thank you to the professional and caring hosts.

Wow 🤩, what a wonderful place The Southgate is in every way. The hosts Steve and Julie are 2 of the nicest people you could ever meet and can’t do enough for you 😊. Every room is spotless and the breakfast is cooked to perfection 👌. Couldn’t think of anywhere nicer to celebrate our wedding anniversary, thank you so much for your hospitality ❤️. Stayed at The Southgate for 5 nights, fantastic hosts, breakfast was great, room spotlessly clean everything you may need was in the room, definitely stay here again. Thanks Chris &Julie for a great stay. Tony/Kim

Very warm welcome from Chris and Julie couldn’t do enough for us ! Beautiful hotel in a lovely location. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and the breakfast was amaze! will definitely be visiting again and would highly reccomend.

Formerly a pub now a well run 6 bedroom B &B located centraly in a small village near Filey.Service from Chris and Julie is flawless,decor is fresh and refreshed yearly breakfast selection excellent Its no wonder booking are full
