An older, well used and dated Motel.  A little on the grubby side.  Warm and dry, comfortable bed, budget friendly.

The worst hotel I have ever lived. Oh sorry, I didn’t stay for a minute. After I saw the room, I checked out immediately . The room was dirty and smelled bad. The most terrible thing is someone was sleeping in my room when I opened the door. And he said he made the mistake. What a ridiculous thing. I told the receptionist, she did nothing. BTW, I didn’t get the refund.

Nothing like the photos... We checked in and checked right out after 10 minutes of looking around.. didnt even ask for ID or car rego like most businesses would. the cabin door was open. Room was left airing out and a cat was roaming in and out as it pleased. I'm allergic. Went to check out the shared facilities. just a bowl of raw meat left in the kitchen area in a pool of its blood. smelt like it have been there for a few hours. No care, not well looked after. Didn't feel safe.

Old dated and needs refit. Was clean but too dated carpet all worn and stretched. Furniture scratched and chipped. Bed pushed against wall so had to climb in. Hard to open cupboard doors. Stove top broken and unsafe. Was close to beach and glow worm dell.

This was very disappointing for the price. The rooms are extremely dated and ours smelt bad. The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom dated. Rundown and dilapidated. The couch was covered up with a blanket. The kitchen had reasonable utensils etc.

Absolutly let down with this accomadation, me and my 11 year old son had to leave at 10pm at night due to my son getting into bed and being bitten by sandflys and ants that were in the sheets , we had no food in the room just 1 wrapper in the bin , also the table and chair outside was rusted so badly they couldn't be used or they would fall to bitc , holes in the walls the room was freezing with only 2 power sockets by the door so using the heater was pointless, the bed was on the ground and had no legs at all , The window was a struggle to lock , the owners gave us a partial refund but I wouldn't reccomend staying here. Cheap isn't always better (Paid $70 to stay here where as down the road we paid $100 for a much bigger. Warmer and much cleaner room)

We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit and it was great. The room had 3x singles and 1x double/queen sized bed. Full kitchen with oven and lounge area with couches, TV and dining table. Bathroom in the unit. Self contained. Car parking right outside the room also. Spacious unit, clean, tidy, simple. We enjoyed our stay here. Walking distance (few mins or less) to the beach. Quiet location. Swimming pool available to use in the summer season. Comfortable stay.

Booked a (budget) 'cabin' but Oh my goodness these really are LOW end! It was freezing cold when we arrived so we sat in the car and ate our dinner while we waited for the heater to warm it up. The cabin was right beside the dumping station for the motorhomes and there were stains on the bedding... the overall condition of the cabin was pretty average including a hole in the entry floor under the carpet! Just not good enough even for low end accomodation in my opinion. The communal facilities were awful with cobwebs everywhere and not much love given to any of it. We arrived later so just put up with it but left early the next morning because we couldnt wait to get out of there. No way we used the showers - freezing cold, grotty peeling paint concrete flooring and not very 'safe' feeling at all! We reluctantly used the bathrooms but didnt dare to shower - couldnt wait to get out the next day! Definitely DO NOT recommend. Pay the extra and stay somewhere better.

We were really impressed with the room for the price, was very basic but ideal for what we wanted , pleasant staff, great location , my daughter was thrilled with the internet being included , we will stay again in the future If you go in summer ask at the office for a fan , it is a bit stuffy over night

Great sized unit with plenty of room for adult family. Bring close to the beach and having a swimming pool was a bonus and staff were very helpful in uncovering it for us to use. The motels are very easy to find and within walking distance to the town centre.

We chose this place because we could bring our dog. I managed to book the two bedroom stand alone cottages, this had its own grass area and a great balcony. On arrive the staff were super helpful and the accomodation unit was very tidy and had every thing we needed. We stayed for three nights and was pleasantly surprised that they can everyday to empty the rubbish, clean the kitchen (including our dishes) and tidy the bathroom. The kids used the pool everyday, it's not flash but cooled the kids down and kept them entertained for a good amount of time, plus it's fully fenced so the dog could come and have a snif and roam. We went to use the playground and unfortunately this area could use a bit of an update as most of the equipment was old and worn. But the kids didn't seem to mind as Hokitika has plenty of awesome playgrounds. With the beach being just over the road it was ideal and the centre of town was only a 10min walk away. I would recommend if you have pets, and will happily stay again.

The accomodation is situated next to the beach and VERY close to the glow worm dell! It is spacious, light and airy. Curiously, the floor appeared to have a tiny slope. Coffee, tea and milk were provided, it was very clean and comfortable with a pleasant garden.
