My room was very clean and comfortable with an incredible ocean front view. The pools and beach area are very nice with both indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, restaurants and pool bar. However, this hotel has a very corporate look and not a very “welcome to the beach” look or feel. Additionally, I was taken back by the lack of Marriott level customer service you’d expect. At check in on Saturday the valet couldn’t have been bothered to greet me at all. As I finished unloading my luggage myself, the attendant then asked me to move the car. I then handed him the key and asked for my valet ticket. Surprised my room wasn’t ready at 3pm and had no problem waiting until 4 to receive a text message when the room would be ready. I never did get the text message from Jee at the front desk and picked up my room key at 6pm when I was done being eaten alive by the mosquitos at the pool area. I was taken back when Max at the bar said that if I wanted a chair on the beach, I could take one myself from the pool area and walk it to the beach since the “season is over we Don’t put chairs out now.” On a positive, the restaurant staff was very friendly and welcoming as you’d expect from Marriott. Food was good.
