High Grassings is located in an amazing position the views from the bedroom were stunning The full English breakfast was freshly cooked and perfect to my taste Hosts David and Carrie are very helpful and David has incredible local knowledge Location was perfect

This is our second visit - this place is certainly a hidden gem. The room is just perfect along with the hosts. Dave is very knowledgable and recommends walks and places to visit which is a great help! Excellent breakfast sets you up for the day Highly recommend for a relaxing break in the lakes Look forward to returning

This place is amazing. Me and my husband stayed here for three nights in the suite it was fabulous . The view was amazing the room was very clean , comfortable bed good facilities. The dressing gowns and slippers and a bottle of wine were a brilliant touch. The bathroom was lovely with a massive shower. The breakfast was lovely with a choice of continental or cooked options. The owners were lovely and friendly couldn't of asked for better service. The location is very good for the surrounding area with plenty of places to visit Five stars all round . Will definitely stay here again if visiting the area.

The views are amazing from the rooms. Rooms so clean and comfortable. Dave and his wife are so lovely happy to help you find your way around the lake district. Breakfast was plentiful. Such a great place to stay. Would definitely reccomend and we will certainly be back .

We booked the suite for 3 nights for a hiking weekend and a friend’s wedding. After a 6 hour journey from Norfolk the hosts were incredibly accommodating at our late check in hour and had great communication. The room was spectacular, spacious, beautiful furnishings, fruit platter, a minibar and most importantly the views. We had plenty of storage space, a full length wardrobe and ample sockets, including by the bed on both sides. The daily continental or cooked breakfast was delicious. The grounds were stunning and the welcome by the chickens and peacock each day was lovely, the views spectacular and I loved the touch of the twinkling tea lights leading you back to the house after dusk. Also getting ready for the wedding the bathroom had great lighting, plenty of mirrors and a well powered shower, hot hot water and a very good hair dryer (important for those of us with long hair!). It was a really easy drive around on very quiet roads to Langdale, Ambleside and Windermere. We had to leave very early on the Monday and came back to a small care package for us to set us on our long journey home which was a lovely touch. We will absolutely stay again if visiting the lakes, thank you so much.

A wonderful weekend stay, house is beautiful, room was excellent, breakfast was delicious! David and Carey are really friendly welcoming hosts and couldn’t do enough to please. Can’t recommend a stay here highly enough - we will be back for sure!
