Allow me to begin by saying that before booking, I didn’t have unrealistic expectations for our stay at this hotel. We chose this hotel because of its cost-effectiveness relative to its proximity to West Lake. While I wasn’t expecting the world, what I did expect was that someone would be bothered to clean the room and provide us with clean towels. However, no one cleaned the room or provided us with towels (without me asking) during our three-day stay. The towels provided were one-time-use disposable towels, which is disappointing, and we were not given new towels; tissue, or toothbrushes until I asked on the final day. I wanted to ask beforehand, but there was no one at the front desk, and it seemed no one was working in the hotel. As well as new towels, on the final day I asked for someone to clean the room too. On that day, as was the case with our entire stay, the hotel staff did not clean the room. Someone did come, but they simply threw a couple of towels and toothbrushes on the bed and then left. It seems there’s a real lack of care in the service provided. The theme of lack of care continues with the state of the bathroom. Not only did the toilet smell bad, but the tap on the sink was broken and jagged and sharp. It’s easy to hurt yourself on a tap like this. While this place is cheap, and the location is okay for the price, the service makes it bad value. Replacing towels, tidying the room, and fixing a tap doesn’t cost the world. I am dissatisfied, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
