톤 호텔 할렌(Thon Hotel Halden)

Nice hotel situated by the sea. Very friendly staff in reception and restaurant. My room was spacious and quiet so I slept well. Breakfast had a variety of choice and was well organized. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was good, simple menu but ok.

First time in my life out of my boring Germany first time in my life in a plane and first time in my life in a Hotel. And everything was so amazing Service Room Breakfast and so nice and friendly Personality. And the 🍒 of the cake 🍰 was I meet my Norwegian Idol and most famous Singer Andreas Haukeland (TIX) he sleeps in the same Hotel. More luck is impossible. Halden is a small nice town 90 minutes with Train to Oslo or maybe you can drive to Gothenburg Sweden. So quite and peaceful you can walk hours at the Fjord for sure I come back again.

We truly loved our stay here. The view of the harbor was stunning and there were many places to eat within walking distance. The breakfast was excellent. Two complaints - the AC (which we had really hoped for) didn’t cool the room at all, but the front desk admitted it doesn’t work well and provided a fan when asked. Also the Wi-Fi was so slow (even though our room was right above checkin) that most websites wouldn’t load. We would definitely stay there again, but would ask for a fan at checkin (we were lucky enough to snag the last one, stolen from the managers office, right before bedtime).

Friendly and efficient staff at check in. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The view out the window was a wall and rooftop. Too bad as Halden is a beautiful city to look at. We will definately stay here again.

The positives here are the location and the friendly staff. The big negative is the bar which becomes a local hangout at night. We stayed on a Saturday night, and were kept awake by the noise from the bar, and the patrons who gathered on the sidewalk outside, directly below our room, making lots of noise late into the night. We arrived after midnight from a wedding, and there were many drunk people filtering into the lobby, which was off-putting given that we were traveling with a child, and was not a setting we wanted to bring her into. The room was sp****ly if adequately furnished, the decor is lacking, the bathroom feels institutional. There were external blinds on the windows, which are necessary due to morning sun. These did not appear to be controlled from within the room. We had a suite, and they were down in the bedroom, but not the living room where my daughter slept, so by 8 am her room was a greenhouse, too warm and uncomfortable. The breakfast was fine, nothing special. The setting by the water is nice. All in all it felt overpriced for what it was. The hotel needs to decide if they want to run a nightspot or a hotel, as the two are not compatible.

Great hotel located dockside in Halden. Good food and friendly staff. Good value for money.

Lovely property on the waterfront. Fantastic staff.

Bad wifi. Found bugs in the room. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good. Food at the restaurant was good, but it was expensive. Location is very good in central Halden. The hotel does not have guest parking and the nearby recommend parking is expensive.
