R2 바이아 플라야 디자인 호텔 & 스파 웰니스 - 어른 전용(R2 Bahia Playa - Adults Only)

We stayed at the R2 Bahia Playa Design Hotel & Spa for a week of all-inclusive indulgence. Lets start with check-in process. We arrived at the hotel at 21:30 starving after all the hours of travel. The first thing that the lovely receptionist did, was told us where to store our bags, put a wrist band on us and nearly marched us to the restaurant so we could get some food just before it closed. The thought was very much appreciated. The whole check-in process went smoothly and quickly. The only thing I would recommend is having your vouchers printed out if you booked through a third party. It was not a large issue, as she simply asked us to email it to the reception. Next the room, after some research and reading all the reviews we decided to spent just a bit extra to get a sea view room. And it definitely paid off. The balcony was huge, with 2 loungers and a table with chairs. We were lucky to be on the second floor, which meant our balcony was partly shaded by the smaller balcony from the upper room. When booking a room I highly recommend paying that little extra for the sea view and if you can, ask for room in the area of room numbers 268 to 240. They are directly by the pool with a bar, have the largest balconies of all of the rooms and are just a few steps from the second pool and a floor up from the restaurant. Just a warning tho, all bathrooms have a glass wall and the toilet has a frosted glass door as well, so going to the bathroom in the night lights up the room. It would be lovely to have a blind or something to prevent that. We found the bed to be on the firmer side, but a quick trip to the reception and the housekeeping added toppers for a bit of extra comfort. Beds are two single beds pushed together (making it a nicely sized super king) that are unfortunately not secured in any way and do move apart during the night. It would be nice for the hotel to come up with a way to prevent that, I imagine a king sized topper and a mattress cover might be enough to hold in together or just a way of securing the beds. The large door to the balcony is connected to the AC system, and sensibly prevents it from running when the door is open. The blackout curtains definitely do the job, and additional lighter mesh-like curtains let a nice breeze through. They however do not block the multitude of hotel cats from entering the room if you are not paying attention. For that reason we did not end up leaving the balcony open even if the sound of waves and palm leaves rustling in the wind was very pleasing. And apologies to the very pregnant momma cat that climbed in our suitcase under the bed and attempted to make a den, there was no need to meow at us every time you walked past just cause we shooed you out of the room. During our stay one of the pools was being completely re-done. You might have come across reviews about damaged wooden decking, well that is all gone. We got lucky that they reopened the pool on our last day, and it looks amazing. A

I have only just got around to completing this review from our 21 day break in April. It was a break away to celebrate my 75th birthday- Adult only , quiet with good food etc! We had specifically requested a quiet room via an e mail , away from fans and exiting night clubs. Alas on arriving late we were led to the first of our room which was clearly right above the nightclub. This started our major disappointment at the resort having been told we could only ask for a different room the next day, which we did. After being told the next morning they were far too busy to deal with our request till later in the day we were reluctantly put in a room which after mostly unpacking revealed not only the smallest amount of storage space but a constant humming at night from an enclosed ventilator. After putting up with this for a couple of days we decided we were still very unhappy.We were told by the very officious receptionist that 1. I had been extremely rude to her earlier about the first move and 2. that she had told us at the time the room had limited storage space. Both sadly untrue. The receptionist knows exactly who she is but I will not name her. We were rescued by the Assistant Manager, Eleanor, who offered us a third room that we felt obliged to take. This faced the sea, had ample stored but lacked the facility to house two sunbeds on the balcony, one thing we wanted and we had paid for. We reluctantly accepted but regretted the decision for the remainder of the holiday.. I am sorry to say that apart from some very lovely staff and a nice position in a quiet town this break was unfortunately one of the worst ( and we get away on holiday 5 to 6 times a year on long breaks) Our reasons are as follows. 1. The reception clerk sadly being untrue to save her own skin giving our celebratory break a sour start. 2. The food choice in the restaurant was of poor quality, rarely at the right temperature with the so called "special nights " that were no real different from any other night. 3. Wifi was poor, download speeds are unacceptable in this day and age with a maximum of 3 units per room allowed (we were given a further 3 however) 4. No ability to have a coffee or drink in reception bar area till 6pm apart from the pool bar serving in paper cups! 5. Using recycling as a reason for waxed papercups wa1s poor. They cannot be recycled and drinks in cups/saucers/glasses would have been a much nicer option (plastic for pool use) 6. DECKING WAS DISGRACEFUL. IT WAS OLD AND DANGEROUS. NAILS WERE POKING OUT FROM IT. IT MOVED AS YOU WALKED ON IT WITH PLANK ACTUALLY RISING . IT WAS VERY OLD AND UNCOMFORTABLE. IT NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH BEFORE THERE IS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. 7. No porterage in the hotel. We had to struggle to our room with no offer to help. As a couple in our 70's this was just not acceptable. 8. Poor quality sunbeds. As a solo traveller looking for relaxation in the sun this was a perfect choice. I stayed in a junior suite with sea view and the balcony was huge with plenty of space for 2 sun loungers and a table and chairs. After reading reviews that the minibar, WiFi and A/C would be chargeable, I was pleasantly surprised to find out these were supplied at no additional charge plus I had a kettle and 2x pool/beach towels included. My room was cleaned daily and the reception staff were very pleasant and welcoming. It was a 5 min walk to the local Spa supermarket where you could pick up a large bottle of water for 0.45euro compared to 1.30euro in the hotel shop. The food was varied each night, all the usual choices and well cooked. The pool area seemed quite busy so I mainly enjoyed the sea view sunbathing on my balcony. Would recommended if you’re looking for a no fuss, low key break.

My partner and I visited the hotel last week for our anniversary and it was lovely! We got a room upgrade and prosecco after informing the staff of this which was greatly appreciated. The staff was kind and inviting and accommodated to any needs we had which made our stay care free. We were one of the youngest couples there at only 19 and 20 but the hotel fit our criteria for a relaxing break. The food was classic all inclusive food. It was enjoyable but we found it to be a bit repetitive, especially as my partner and I don’t eat fish or pork which was the main choices of meat they had most days. The desserts also lacked some flavour (this may just be because I have a very strong sweet tooth!). But other than that the breakfast was always lovely and we enjoyed the hot dogs and burgers during snack time. The alcoholic drinks were always strong and the bar staff in the evening were very friendly and easy to talk to. Although there isn’t much to do around, we spent a day at the Oasis Wildlife which although a bit pricey for a zoo, we really enjoyed and would recommend. Overall, this was a lovely hotel and would definitely revisit and highly recommend if you are in search for a relaxing stay!

This is a good hotel, the food is ok, limited all inclusive cocktails, staff friendly, no problem with sunbeds although it is still early in the season. While we stayed ( 10 days in may) one of the pools was closed while building work / repairs being completed, which we weren’t aware of before we booked, but it looks like it’s almost finished so shouldn’t be closed for much longer. My only complaint is lack of vegetarian options, meat and fish are in almost every thing and people tend to use the same serving spoons to pick up different foods, which isn’t a problem if you eat meat but annoying if you are a vegetarian. There isn’t much to do in surrounding area but there is a bus that is cheap and it’s fairly easy to get.

My wife and I chose this hotel for a quiet relaxing break and it fitted our requirements perfectly, the hotel is very nice and very clean and all the staff are very friendly I took advantage of the excellent spa facilities and experienced two wonderful massages by a lady named Soli she really was absolutely amazing. The food was good, the room was great and the animation team around the pool were brilliant. We both had a wonderful time and would definitely go there again.

Hotel was very good. Spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Food has a decent range of options with something for everyone. Only 3 stars because the decking area round the pool was past needing repairs (was bad enough last year and not been dealt with). Also, overbooking meant that 2 of our friends (not booked as a group) ended up elsewhere for 2 nights and the manager was not available at that time. We did catch him later in the week and he said decking repairs were imminent. However, after emailing for an update before booking again for next year, this still hasn't been tackled and he us unable to tell us an exact date for this. Would be more than happy to return but not until decking made safe.

First time in the Canaries and very pleased with this hotel. Good salad options and drinks, meats on the poorer side. Quite clean. Staff very kind and helpful, especially Rafael who works in the restaurant. Jamal was also excellent at engaging guests - thank you! Lots of cute cats around which was a big plus for me. Staff kind enough to let me practice spanish with them too! Yes there are a few bits of the hotel that are older (decking, some signage) but that didn't effect out stay in the least. Coffee hack: put an extra shot of espresso in your cappuccino at the machines- it fits!

The hotels and most staff were great but the wooden decking around all the pools was in a disgusting and dangerous state. We complained to staff who said they were aware and trying to get it repaired. I later found out from a staff member in confidence that it had been that way for over a year. No staff were interested.. there were holes, trip hazards and nails. You couldn’t walk around the pools (all 3) barefoot . Absolutely disgraceful. Would never go here again because of the dangers of the decking and of the attitude of the staff we mentioned it to. All other aspects of the hotel were ok
