Nice location and tradition hotel, but WAY overpriced. Food is just good nothing special but at £25.00 for two basic courses. Well list for words. The night before I stayed just around the corner at the premier inn and far better value. Suggest you try elsewhere.

First takeout Sunday Lunch of 2024 and it was lovely. Already counting the days to this weekend for the next one. We can’t get enough of the gravy. Delicious Staff are great. Very friendly and welcoming and the food is delicious

The stay was fantastic, the staff are always very friendly and helpful and their food is amazing, Never fails!

We stayed in the poplar room we arrived just before 3pm for check in a warm welcome and nice cosy reception and bar we went up to the room 1st thing I noticed was a lovely bathroom then we noticed staines on the carpet looks from tea bags or coffee we then seen the cracks in the wall behind the TV and right across the ceiling bed was very uncomfortable wallpaper ripped and stuck back down tea and coffee facilities available 1 bath sheet each 1 hand towel between 2 of us and only 1 dressing gown for 2 of us?? Throught the afternoon we could hear children runing up and down in the apartment above our room which was annoying on the evening we went for the even meal sat in the bar was approached by a lady who took our order we were then sat at our table with half a bottle of champagne which was not even opened and not very nice I had the soup to start which was nice but heavily seasoned with salt I had the rump steak which I asked for pink and it was however the steak wasn't seasoned and was served with half a grilled tomato garnish and what tasted and looked like McDonald's French fries heavily salted I then had the sticky toffee pudding was told it was a great choice when I tasted it I could tell it was not home made definitely shop bought and not pleasant to eat I left most of it I felt the hole meal was rushed no sooner had the starter finished we had our main meal served with in 2 minutes no time to digest the lady who took our order seemed to keep watching and waiting to remove our plates the who 3 courses we had were finished in 50 minutes and the quality was something I'd say was nothing like the images on the website we went back to the room and went to sleep around 10:30pm then at 11pm someone set the fire alarm off which woke us up and took ages to get back to sleep the bed was a normal double very small and horrible thin mattress after a terrible night's sleep we went down for breakfast we were greeted and offered a table we were asked what we wanted to drink we both asked for cappuccino to which the lady said sorry we don't do that on a morning plus I don't know how to use the machine we had coffee instead and left to decide to eat me and me and my partner were so disgusted with the stay we decided to make our excuses and check out please avoid this hotel at all costs it's definetly not 3 star hotel 2 star at best and the stickers in the front window showing awards are from 2018 nothing recent you would be better staying at Premier Inn and have a nicer room we definitely won't be back nor recommend to family and friends

Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and polite. The rooms and hotel are quite old fashioned but are clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was really good. The bathroom radiator blasted out so much heat (and couldn’t be turned down) so the room was quite hot…bearing in mind it was November!

I'm touring the country this week with a packed work diary, and so it's such a joy to be greeted by name as you enter the door of a hotel you've never visited before. What a gem of a rare find , true hospitality, 5 star service, excellent food, warm atmosphere and attention to detail. The setting is charming and peaceful and the staff are so welcoming, friendly and polite. The main building is cosy and homely and instantly gives the feeling of warmth and comfort. We were staying in a room that was accessed through an external door next to the carpark. The room was fine and was clean. The beds were comfortable and there were nice touches such as teas, coffees, bottled water etc. I do, however, feel the room is due a lick of paint and seemed a bit worn out in places. The bathroom was adequate but again it seems like it needs a revamp and it felt almost damp. The breakfasts are served between 730am - 10am and are plentiful and tasty. All in all I would return here but I would probably ask for another room next time, in the hope that it had been more recently renovated.

The best thing about this hotel villa was the staff, who were terrific. The food was absolutely delicious.

A nice, traditional hotel with super friendly staff. Was only a one night stay, up from Surrey to watch the PSG game, and they greeted us with a nice, personal approach and a smile. The house is obviously old, with creaks and groans as you wander about but has character. The room was clean and comfortable with traditional touches, such as decor and trimmings, absolutely not a bog standard 'every other hotel room' feel. Parking was easy and felt secure, my car was literally under my window! Breakfast was plentiful and nicely cooked, cereals and croissants to line the stomach until the full English arrived. Every member of staff was just so nice and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. If you forced my hand and asked for a negative, the only thing I would add is a USB port anywhere in the room as I forgot the plug end for my phone cable! Lol.
