I booked a week in August, the high season for Sitges in the top premium category offered on **********, being the Superior Terrace Sea View room. I booked 6 months in advance. They gave me the tiniest sea view room, the one squeezed into the elbow of the elevator lobby, but it did have the direct Sea View. The exterior of the building was peeling, in need of paint, the elevator was al scratched up, like it hadn't been updated in 25 years; the elevator lobby was stained beyond belief. The carpet looked newer, but had many stains, it was very unattractive. The main issue was the bed; I have been traveling for 50 years (I'm 69 yo), and I have NEVER slept in a more uncomfortable bed. It was hard-as-a-rock, lumpy, high-centered front-to-rear AND side-to-side, and the bed frame/foundation was very unstable. ANY movement by one person in the bed doubled in magnitude (like a water wave), and woke up the other person. I went down to the desk and spoke to the junior manager, and he said that he would do something about it; he did nothing. I went down the next morning and spoke very sincerely to "Rafa", the day general manager, and he said that he "would speak to housekeeping". He did nothing. That evening, we took the mattress off the frame and put it on the floor, tilting the frame against the wall. I spoke to the desk very day after that for the rest of the week, NO ONE EVER DID ANYTHING. I asked for a lesser room with twin beds, anything, NOTHING! DO NOT STAY HERE!
