The hotel Golden Crest deceives people saying it is newly renovated. The ceiling is damp and broken (photo attached). Moreover they have not provided even basic amenities like towel, toiletries etc. The customer service is also not helpful. Overall an experience nobody would like to have.

The property has a great location and offers breathtaking views. The staff is polite and helpful, making guests feel at home. Rooms are spacious and well maintained, with comfortable beds. It is a decent budget property with good amenities and safety measures.

The hospitality at the property was excellent. The best part was accessibility till mall road, cabs are easily available from the property. The view from the room was perfect and even the linens, aesthetics were 11/10! Must visit when in Gangtoj

The hotel is very nice. We have booked premium view (2rooms) from 19-22 april . The room was nice and clean. All the amenities were given to us . Staff is very polite. Dinesh (Receptionist) was very helpful. By helping in local sightseeing and permit for nathu la pass. And arranging taxi from gangtok to kalimpong. Room service was also good but breakfast buffet was not very good. The food was not well cooked. Me and my family didn’t like the breakfast buffet. Thats why giving 4/5 stars. Otherwise staff was very polite and service was also on time. I enjoyed staying at the hotel.

Good family stay at the hotel. Staff was friendly and supportive. Also it is near to the MG Marg and accessibility to other parts of the city. We like the hotel and enjoyed our stay. Thanks to the hotel staff and wish them all very best of their business.

I had a wonderful stay at The Golden Crest. It was not without issues. But the test of a hotel and its staff is not how bad a situation is but how they address it. Dinesh and Anusha made it a very pleasant stay. The elevator was somewhat working - because of a bad sensor on order that had not arrived. The staff tried to make accommodations so that we were not inconvenienced. The WiFi on the 4th floor, where we were, was not working, especially for iPhones. They had someone over right away trying to address that issue, even though their efforts did not really address the issue. It was clear they were trying. I had issues with the room smelling of smoke (someone had been smoking), the small rug not being clean, and other minor issues. Anusha was quick in getting those addressed, for a better experience the rest of the time. Her smile and willingness to accommodate were sufficient reassurance of her intent to please, and her hospitality. She dressed immaculately - like a 5-star hotel host! :-) Dinesh was absolutely astounding in making tour arrangements. We called him late at night to make tour arrangements for the next day, early morning. There was a problem with my Sikkim permit since I had gotten the permit made in Delhi but had crossed the border by car, had not been stopped, and therefore did not have an arrival date stamped on it, to register a legitimate departure date of 30 days. In spite of that, he was able to make the appropriate arrangements for all of us -- Indian and non-Indian citizens (me), which included having to arrange for a ***datory guide, at such a short notice, at very competitive prices. It looked very iffy for me at times. But Dinesh was able to swing it. I was leaving the day after and would not have been able to enjoy the main attractions in Gangtok, but for Dinesh. He made travel arrangements at very reasonable rates, immediately, whenever we needed to go somewhere, including the Pakyong airport. You can spend a lot of money in one of the other hotels. Or you can choose The Golden Crest at much lower prices, for a comfortable stay, with the hospitality and care provided by the likes of Dinesh and Anusha. You won't go wrong!
