호텔 랑겐발트제(Hotel Langenwaldsee)

Likely one of the best hidden gems in Germany. Exceptional staff and location resulted in a restful and rejuvenating stay. The meals were delicious and prepared with local fresh ingredients. The access to the Black Forest is literally steps away; be it hiking or biking. Few suggestions, 1) book a room on the lake side as the road is a bit loud at night and 2) bring a pillow as the ones provided are very German. 10/10 and will return!

There is a reason this is the cheapest place in Schwarzwald with the wellness packages. Take your money, spend a little more and go elsewhere. I gave it 2 stars only because it technically delivered what was in our "Wir beiden am See" package, otherwise only 1. After reading the reviews here, we thought we had made a great choice, now I would really like to know what these people were on when they wrote them. Good things: - sauna area is nice. Salzgrotte and Finnish sauna are lovely. - food was as expected, good old fashioned German food, nothing special or gourmet but what I expected from a hotel like this. - bathroom in our room was new and clean. Everything else: - our room (52) is in desperate need of an upgrade. Incredibly old (not in a charming way) and stunk of cigarettes (absolute no-go for me). It was clearly a smoking room once upon a time for a LONG time and nothing gets rid of that small without a renovation. Mattresses were thin and anyone taller than me (I'm 177cm) will kick the bed frame. - "vital" Frühstück was a basic Buffet. Don't expect anything more. Also most things had run out an hour before it closed and wasn't replenished. - massage was WOEFUL. Both my partner and I had different therapists and both were so light that there was really no point. And his came with unwanted babble about dogs from the therapist. Only order if you want to be moisturised. - service is pretty basic (with the exception to the Hungarian waiter who was personable and lovely). I had the feeling none of the others wanted to be there. - the "lake" is a glorified muddy hole with 2 swans that are unable to leave. - sauna isn't open until 2pm!! The entire hotel is then trying to have a sauna in the 5 hours that's its open. So many people came down expecting to have a morning sauna, we saw this because we did the same after our crappy massage at 9.30am. Also meant on our last day we couldn't use the spa after we checked out. - came back to our room after breakfast on checkout day and all our towels and robes were gone. Even though all our stuff was still there and we had an hour qto go. - our bottle of red wine came to the table from the fridge, very cold. - the whole place is run like a moneymaker, there is ABSOLUTELY none of the charm of a family owned, cute black forest hotel. It's big, impersonal, clearly understaffed and overpopulated. This hotel is not the wellness retreat that we expected and felt less relaxed after our trip than we were before. We had the feeling we were always expecting the next thing to be bad, and it almost always was. We wish we had gone elsewhere and cannot recommend.

We got a terrible room- without a balcony(although order clearly says with balcony, they blamed ********** for sending it wrong), and worst of all it was in a construction site of their redecorations, which had construction workers walking around it smoking right into our windows and their chemical toilet in front of our room, the smells were horrible. The room felt outdated, unclean, and the bed was tiny. After complaining to the manager they moved us to a slightly better room the second night.

This was our second time at the Hotel Langenwaldsee. It was exactly what we needed for a short break. The amenities are great, the food is excellent, and the staff are very friendly.

Wir hatten Halbpension gebucht und waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Nachtessen und dem Frühstücksbuffet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, einschliesslich der Besitzerfamilie. Und die Räumlichkeiten waren stets sauber. Auch der SPA-Bereich konnte uns zufrieden stellen. Wobei kleine Kinder unseres Erachtens nichts zu suchen haben in der Sauna, mit und ohne elterliche Begleitung. Da kleine Kinder zum Kreischen neigen, sollten sie auch im Pool erst ab 16 J. zugelassen sein. Sie sollten Ihr Hotel auf der Webseite als HUNDEFREUNDLICHES HOTEL deklarieren: Es störte uns sehr, dass zahlreiche grössere und kleinere Hunde allabendlich beim Nachtessen im Speisesaal waren. Sie schüttelten sich nach dem Aufstehen wiederholt direkt neben dem Tisch noch essender Gäste. Noch mehr störte uns, dass sie auch beim Frühstück im Speisesaal anzutreffen waren. Das haben wir noch nie erlebt. Es geht auch nicht, dass sich Hunde in Zimmern mit Spannteppich aufhalten. Der Geruch nasser Hunde lässt sich schwerlich daraus entfernen. Gestört haben wir uns auch daran, dass uns unser Zimmer bei der Ankunft als frisch renoviert angekündigt wurde. Die Renovation mussten wir schliesslich auf die neu eingebauten Fenster beziehen. Alles andere empfanden wir als länger vorbestehend, nicht sehr modern. Das betrifft auch den Spannteppich, den wir als nicht mehr zeitgemäss einstufen. Handyempfang ist nur bedingt möglich (Funkloch). Sehr gefehlt hat uns ein Aufenthaltsraum. Es gibt nur eine sehr kleine Sitzecke für 4 Personen im Gang für alle Hotelgäste. Um 22.00 schliesst das Restaurant, dann muss man ins Zimmer, eine Konsumation ist nicht mehr möglich. Keine Minibar im Zimmer.

Leider waren nur zwei Nächte in diesem schönen Hotel. Das nächste Mal möchten wir ein wenig länger bleiben. Für uns hat alles gestimmt. Nette Begrüssung, schönes Zimmer mit einem grossen Balkon und eine wirklich tolle Umgebung. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig. Das Abendessen fanden wir fein und kreativ. Es schmeckte toll. Das Personal war durchs Band weg freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch Freudenstadt war schön und gemütlich und das Eis war super. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit.

Ein netter Gasthof, der glaubt ein Luxushotel zu sein. Zimmer auf Stand der 70iger Jahre, durchgelegene Matratzen und ein recht nostalgisches Feeling. Aber anständiges Essen zu auch hier sehr stolzen Preisen. Wo hier die ganzen positiven Bewertungen herkommen ist nicht nachvollziehbar.

Hôtel bien tenu, propre et calme. 2 regrets: le personnel ne parle pas volontiers une autre langue que l’allemand (voire est hostile) et la photo de l’hôtel avec le petit lac devant est totalement truquée. Dommage. Le restaurant sert des repas locaux (tout sauf légers) et en trop grande quantité. Il s’agit d’un hôtel qui a tout misé sur son spa et les massages de remise en forme.

Ich bin mit meiner Mutter nun schon das 2. mal hier in der neuen Senior-Suite . Wunderschön und behindertengerecht . Hier stimmt einfach alles . Sehr sauber , ALLE mega freundlich , das Essen ist grandios, der Wellnessbereich ideal- einfach rundum perfekt !!!!! Freuen uns schon auf‘s nächste mal
