페르네이 볼테르 4성급 호텔

친구들이 다음날 스키 리조트로 향하기 위해 픽업했기 때문에 하룻밤 동안 호텔이 필요했습니다. 공항에서 66 번 버스를 타고 호텔에서 6 분 거리에 내려주었습니다. 제네바 시내 중심에서 45 분 버스. 이 지역에 많은 건설. 쾌적한 호텔, 아름다운 공용 공간, 매우 현대적입니다. 방에 간이 주방이 있는데 아침에 차와 죽을 만들어야 해서 기분 좋게 놀랐습니다. 화장실은 샤워실과 분리되어 있지만 괜찮고 매우 넓으며 다시 머물고 싶습니다.

The hotel is nicely located within Ferney-Voltaire with 5-minutes walk both from the F/66 bus stop at Rue de Jure or center of the town or Voltaire's house. I stayed at the room on the last floor with a lot of the fresh air and the only 'noise' from the birds. The room itself was clean with all necessary cooking facilities present. I definitely recommend this hotel compared to twice more expensive Geneve if one don't mind 30 minutes bus ride to 'Nations' in the morning.

The hotel is very near to Geneva Airport and it provide free parking at the hotel. The hotel reception is open 24/7 so if you are on a late flight, you will not have problem checking in late at night. There is a petrol station and supermarket nearby so it is very convenience. As this hotel is situated on the French side of Geneva, the price is more economical. The reception is efficient with the check in process.

This is a disaster of a hotel. Shuttles: It is promoted as an Airport Hotel with a shuttle making you think you have easy access to and from the airport. Not true. They give you one ride from the airport, one ride to the airport when you leave. You are only 5 kilometres away from the airport so they continue to call you an unmetered taxi which costs you CHF 30 per ride. Or CHF 65 to the city. We tested in reverse from the airport it should be CHF15 per ride from the city it is only CHF 40. So there's a hustle going on here and the staff are most unhelpful. On the hotel: It has 2 floors, no lift. You have to carry your luggage by yourself up the stairs and no help, the room air-conditioning does not work, it is a central air system with no individual room air so had to have the window open each night to get fresh air. Staff: Rating about six different staff over the course of five days each of them are unhelpful, grumpy, and don't care. Room keys didn't work 4 days out of 5 so had to constantly revisit the front desk to be reset, getting an iron took two days. Everything comes with an excuse. The hotel restaurant breakfasts is good as they're simple European breakfast, fresh orange juice, good coffee, cheese, eggs. Dinner however is a microwaved pizza. This visit was horrible and I can imagine this is great candidate for the next hotel nightmare show.

We arrived at 11pm, tired due to a long flight delay. We were hungry and no food was available. We asked the receptionist if we could just have a drink from the bar behind her. She said no. There was no apology. I explained that if we'd arrived at an Accor or Radisson hotel they be able to help us. She just shrugged her shoulders. She wouldn't even provide fresh milk for my wife to make a cup of tea in the room. The check in was also time consuming and complicated. I was asked to pay for the room on arrival. I did this using my American Express card. I was then bizarrely asked for a €250 deposit. The receptionist explained that while I could use Amex for the room the €250 could not be paid on Amex, so I had to pay this on a Visa. I'd paid for the room in full and in advance so why was I being asked for more money? I get a breakage deposit if you're staying a week at a fully equipped apartment but this was just a double room with a bathroom. We were offered breakfast in our welcome email at €8.50 each but this was charged at €29 for two on our departure. Despite the coffee machine not working and there being nothing hot to eat left at 9am. Not good. The room itself was very nice, shame about the staff and ludicrous check in deposit situation.

So after paying Switzerland prices, I booked this hotel for one night before an early travel day. I was not expecting luxury, we just wanted a place to sleep. However, there was a slight odor of urine in our bathroom. If we had been there for more than 10 hours I would have requested to change rooms. I found this hotel after searching for an airport hotel. Please be sure to book the hotel shuttle service, because there are no Ubers (possibly because of crossing the border). The shuttle had 7 seats and picked up at another hotel so I am not sure what would have happened if we had not assessed the Uber situation the night before our flight. We were fortunate to be able to secure three spots. The shuttle was there on time and got to the airport quickly. The hotel is a bargain for the area and the breakfast looked plentiful (though we left so early we did not eat)
