르 생 미셸(Le Saint Michel)

Located in a not quite salubrious part of town, first impressions are mixed. However the owner is very welcoming (without any English being spoken) and the hotel has a rustic, individual charm. The room was quiet and clean, with a level of amenity to be expected. The highlight of the stay was the meal in the hotel restaurant - freshly cooked, local influence and great value. The owner was attentive and keen to please.

Very helpful staff. Breakfast experience is a bit like a school cafeteria. Location great for town. Very secure motorbike parking in garage.

Room was nice. Breakfast was outstanding but very noisy environment with people talking outside late into the night and early again in the morning.

A very pleasant surprise. The room was big, very clean, with a very nice bathroom. Very quiet location. The owner of the hotel was incredibly kind and helpful, even with our limited French. We would definitely come back here.

We stayed for 1 night en route to Germany and were pleased with the welcome and restaurant. The room was small but fairly clean except for a waste bin that was not emptied from the previous occupants. That aside it was overall a good visit and excellent value for money.

On a bicycle trip, we slept 1 night in Le Saint-Michel and were very pleased. Very kind hotel in a good location, close to the castle and close to the Voie Verte Trans Ardennes, La Meuse à Vélo, that we followed from Givet, at Charleville, Sédan, and untill Mouzon. Our room was quiet and clean, standard comfort, and had a big bathroom. Good breakfast buffet and you can make your own fresh orange juice. The restaurant of the hotel is very good and has a good Price/Quality. And the bicycles can sleep in a safe place. Recommended.

Old but well-maintained hotel steps from the Sedan Castle. Well appointed rooms, clean inside, excellent service. Those arriving by car could go directly to the nearby Place du Chateau public parking (free), 30 meters away from the hotel. Those arriving by bicycle can park it in the hotel's secured patio. The owner/manager was very personable and eager to assist. There is an on-site restaurant. We did not try it because it was closed when we arrived, but the owner recommended the grill/pizzeria next door and it was very good. Breakfast is available for a reasonable fee and it was a copious french breakfast buffet with ham, cheeses, eggs, dairy, croissants, etc. We had a family room at the top floor with space for 2 children and a crib. The kids enjoyed staying in the mezzanine. The bathroom was spacious by French standard and it had a 110/230V multi-format plug. Given the excellent location, condition of the hotel, value, and great personality of the owner, we rate this a 5.

I stayed there one night, including 3 course menu, bottle of St Estephe wine, and breakfast, for only 135 EUR. Good food, decent rooms (a little dark maybe), and in the historical centre of the town. Very friendly owner. For that price I think it will be hard to find something better in Sedan.

We had a very pleasant dinner here on a busy Saturday. We were able to make a reservation a few hours ahead and they fit us in. I had the 27€ menu of ham with mozzarella and tomatoes on salad, duck breast with peaches and creme caramel for dessert, other choices available on that menu. My husband had the large goat cheese salad and salmon with rice and boiled potatoes, a little too much starch but everything was tasty. We had a bottle of Cote de Provence rose for 18.50€ that we thought was quite good. The prices here were quite reasonable. The service is friendly.
