Average hotel, convenient for travellers, close to the motorway junction. It has private paid parking. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a swimming pool and gym at guests' disposal. The breakfast is good and quite varied. The reception staff very friendly and helpful.

Were in this part of Germany on business, stayed here for one night. The hotel was chosen due to the availability of spa. The hotel has a swimming pool, sauna, steam cabin, solarium and gym, if you wish, you can arrange in advance for a time for a massage session. For ethical reasons, I did not take a photo of the pool, as there were always people there, but the photo can be viewed on the hotel website. We were given a two-room suite for 3 people and a dog, and at first we booked a comfort room for 2 people, then our circumstances changed, another person and a dog were added. By the way, the hotel accepts dogs. On the phone we changed the booking to 3 and a dog. A two-room suite is essentially two separate rooms connected by a common door, one of which corresponds to the description of comfort, and the second room is a simple room. But even though there was only one kettle for 2 rooms, there was tea, coffee and sugar for 3 persons, the price of the room fully corresponded to the price of such a combi, that is, they didn’t charge us extra, from the side of a simple room there was even a bath, and not a shower cabin, as in Comfort room, in general we liked everything. The only negatives are the pillows are a bit thin, don't hold their shape, even 2 weren't too fluffy and the content of the minibar that was included in the price. In addition to 2 large bottles of mineral water, one of which is in each room, we had 4 bottles of drinks and all different. That is, there could be difficulties in their distribution. The hotel has 2 restaurants - one for breakfast, the other is open all day a la carte. For breakfast, a buffet, we included in the price, there was everything at breakfast, even melons, watermelons and pineapples, but not were only sausages and salmon. And the omelet was a bit dry. The rest is in full. There was also chicken ham, not to mention the numerous varieties of pork ham. Service is friendly. In general, we were satisfied with the breakfast. About the spa. The sauna seems a bit too hot at first, and the pool is cold, but then you get used to it. The pool is large enough and there is enough space for everyone, which is nice. Outside there are places for sunbathing. As for the design of the hotel, which is often criticized, I prefer no design or some old design than a modern, but inelegant and flashy design. In general, I liked everything in the hotel, I would stay on occasion for a couple more days to enjoy the pool and sauna.

Stayed here for a conference at the nearby Essen Congress Center. There were both good and bad. I'd avoid the restaurant as the service was poor. On the other hand, the morning breakfast was excellent. Room was normal European size. Comfortable for us. We were in the back of the hotel, which while a long walk, was quiet. Our room looked out onto a nice wooded area. Nice bathroom. NO air conditioning, which was ok in May. Good internet and decent parking (fee). The front desk folks were excellent and were very helpful. You are kinda within walking distance of the conference center--but it's a half hour. There supposedly was a shuttle bus, but it was very hit or miss. We often had to take the city bus at an extra charge--and there is a stop right in front of the hotel, which was useful to us. We would stay there again.

Very friendly and helpful staff at reception and the bistro. A lift green around the buildings. Not far from the motorway yet it was quiet. Easy to reach various parts of the town.

A bit outdated hotel, but great location and very service minded staff. Easy/cheap parking right outside and easy to get to by car. In walking distance to Messe Essen, and also have taxis outside in the morning who can take you to Messe Essen for around 10 EUR. Beds were really bad and breakfast didn't look appealing to us, but the service level from the staff makes it 5 stars anyway. Above and beyond expectations. Never met as friendly and welcoming a hotel reception manager as Markus. Great way to land after 6 hours on the road. This is the second time we visited Hotel Bredeney, and we will surely be back. Would not complain if beds and restaurants got an upgrade though 😊

The property was pretty nice but the pillows were absolutely horrible. The mini fridge also had been left open and defrosted so it looked very dirty inside. The walls were thin so I was able to hear another guest snoring in another room and lastly there was 2 hairs in the shower that made it feel not very clean.

This is a terrible hotel! The stars is an insult. The room had an interior stolen from 1975 and a dense smell of mold was hitting you in the face entering the room. Me and my collegues will never stay here again.
