알토 칼라파테 호텔(Alto Calafate Hotel)

This hotel is a bit out of town, but has a good shuttle bus to get you there and back, as long as you can negotiate the booking service. the hotel is pleasant, the rooms clean, and have lovely views over the lake. The pool and spa area were really nice & staff there helpful; the pool was open till quite late, so nice to have a swim as the sun was going down. Breakfast selection was good, and I had an enjoyable meal on my first evening stay.

The room was well provided, comfortable, immaculate and well serviced. However, it was stiflingly hot with no fan or a/c and even with the window wide open, there was little relief. The staff were nice, keen and helpful but the language barrier caused many misunderstandings which we did overcome one way or another. They tended to be slow though which was a little irksome. For all that, I enjoyed my stay. There is nothing in the immediate vicinity so for a change the free shuttle bus runs regularly to town.

Location is a selling point. Fantastic views , including from bedroom window. Also only a 30 minute walk into town centre ( going just head for the Christmas treee that you can see on horizon but is up hill coming back. ) or book onto free hotel shuffle bus. Staff are all helpful, Friendly and very professional. My spainish is not great but I got by . The public rooms are well presented and stylish. The view from the pool best ive ever seen. The spa area nice snd pool lovely and warm .Although the steam room was not working and sauna not very hot. Can get a robe ftom spa. The restaurant/bar opens until midnight . I eat here one night out of my 4 nights. The food was very good. I had lamb stew. A bit Pricey but good quality and worth it. Wine also good and normal hotel prices. Breakfast was typical Argentina type of breakfast fare but quality was better than some other places. Nicely presented, wide selection. What let it down a little was the bedroom. It was a large room, bed was very comfy , everything you need was there but a little tired , needs a refresh . Slight damp musty smell, tap dripped in bath. The room was nice with fab views but not as stylish as rest of hotel. Over all a very good hotel. Super professional staff . I would like to come back.

This is a great hotel. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is great. Pools good spas grea/. Transportation free into town on the hour. The front desk lady Pasalinda was superb. She helped with Chile park tickets that were for our next stop. So helpful.

The hotel is located a few kilometers from the center, but you can enjoy a beautiful lake view. There is also an efficient shuttle service that takes you to the center in a few minutes. The hotel features a recreation centre with an indoor heated swimming pool and a sauna. Large, clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was a buffet, very big variety and good quality. Kind and helpful staff.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights when we visited El Calafate in November. Our room was on the third floor, only one of two rooms on that floor. Our stay was booked by our tour company, Say Hueque, and we couldn’t be happier! Our room had its own entrance hallway, sitting room, large bedroom with plenty of closets. Bathroom had shower and jacuzzi, which unfortunately, we never used since our Patagonia tours always started very early in the morning and ended very late at night. We were always tired and just wanted to shower and to sleep. Our room was very quiet and we slept well. The included breakfast was limited, but was fresh and delicious. The hotel offered free shuttle to/from town and it only took few minutes. It was very convenient, but you need to make reservation with the front desk. Our only complaint was that no one spoke English and it took almost 40 minutes to check-in. When we checked out, it took almost 30 minutes while someone went to the room and made sure nothing was missing. We didn’t mind, of course, since the room had many beautiful decorations, but just annoyed that it took so long. All in all, we absolutely enjoyed our stay here and look forward to returning!

Amazing setting, decent breakfast, nice pools, helpful staff Dinner was terrible. Slow & not clear what was included on menu or from server. Food was only warm & not tasty.

Excellent property - It's at an elev5abd so affords a great view of the Bay....esp in early mornings and nights. We hv frequent shuttles to town.Good service. But, they charge for even for small services Tea Bags, Footwears that should be in room at such hotels. Good lounge.

A big mistake choosing to stay here. Other than the pools and the friendly staff this hotel is poorly managed and has nothing else to offer.Breakfast choices are an embarrassment. The building is dated and far away from the town. Avoid the restaurant barlovento . It was our worse gastronomical el Erie le in town. Avoid this place at all costs
