Carmichael

EXCELLENT. Our stay was simply wonderful and memorable. Three older teens and their 72-yr. old Nana on a celebration trip from Oklahoma school graduations. EACH grand-teen said that CARMICHAEL B&B was their favorite, most confortable 'stay' (even more than a ******* pub inn near Windsor and 5 others). Michael and Caroline are approachable, helpful and so personable. BREAKFAST IS AWESOME and we sure missed that for the rest of our stays. Location is unbelievable for the feel of 'away from the city' while actually a delightful walk or short drive into Edinburgh. Value for price is VERY reasonable. We stayed in the very roomy family room overlooking the garden. Cannot recommend Carmichael B&B more highly. A firm 5+ Stars.

A wonderful stay at a very beautiful and comfortable Bed & Breakfast. Mike was extremely accommodating and helpful. The room was lovely, the bed extremely comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious! The perfect stay for a weekend city break. Easy to get to town by the buses - Mike even showed us what app to get on our phones for the live bus timetables, as well as booked our taxi to the airport for our flight home. We would definitely go back!

We stayed in a very clean and comfortable but cluttered triple room for 3 nights for the Edinburgh Tattoo and Fringe. We were greeted warmly and made very welcome. However, we were pleased that we were only a couple as the room would have been very crowded with 3 persons. The small en suite bathroom was fitted with a macerator which made loud grinding and pumping noises when the toilet was flushed or one showered or washed. However, other rooms had similar macertors, which were also noisy when used - frequently at irregular intervals during the night. These noises disturbed us each night, despite us using earplugs after the first disturbed night. The soundproofing in this residence was not good as were were disurbed on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed by the persons upstairs moving around. Breakfast were generous and hot, but served at a large communal table. Sadly, this accommodation was spoilt by us both having our sleep disturbed each night - hence only a 3 star review.

Very friendly & helpful staff. Bit disappointed that room did not have en suite, advertised as private bathroom which turned out to be a bathroom to ourselves but down the corridor from our room. This was not clear at time of booking. Generally found the rooms a bit dated & old fashioned with too much clutter. Breakfast lovely but arrived too quickly as had to be pre ordered for a set time so no time to eat cereal or fruit before hot breakfast was put in front of you. Not fan of sharing large dining table with other guests

We stayed here for a rugby match as it is only a short walk to the stadium.A beautiful home where we were made very welcome by the owners.Lovely bedroom and en suite.The breakfast was great.You can walk or bus into the city centre to ear ,no distance at all.Would recommend here.

Muy sucio (moqueta asquerosa, humedades en el baño, telarañas, colchas sucias, muebles sucios, botes de champú con moho), desayuno escaso y con productos de baja calidad y caducados (me encontré té caducado desde el 2021, las mermeladas llevarían abiertas mucho tiempo pues tenían mal sabor y consistencia), colchones con los muelles salidos, instalaciones y servicios muy deficientes porque todo es muy viejo y parece que no tiene mantenimiento alguno. La casa necesita una buena limpieza y reforma, y huele mal. El agua de la ducha no sé qué tendría que nos provocaba picores en la piel. Cuando llegamos nos dijeron que no hacían las habitaciones (limpiar y hacer camas) y que si necesitabas toallas o papel que bajaras a pedirlo, les dijimos que nos estábamos conformes, pues nunca me había encontrado con esto en ningún alojamiento, por mucho que alegaran que era por el Covid (ojo que era agosto de 2022, cuando en UK las medidas covid son inexistentes). Creo que se paga por un servicio completo, y precisamente en base a esa excusa tendría que ser al contrario, contra más limpieza, mejor para combatir el Covid. Anfitriones desagradables y con comportamientos extraños, te hacían sentir muy incómodo. Lo peor de todo: cuando me fui emitieron un cargo adicional a mi tarjeta de 250 libras sin mi autorización, acusándome falsamente de haber hecho un supuesto desperfecto que no hice (lo cual no logro entender como pudieron hacer si yo no puse mi PIN, ni había firmado autorización alguna para que pudieran hacerme cargos, ni especifican nada en ese sentido en sus condiciones). Me he sentido completamente engañada y ha sido la peor experiencia de mi vida en un alojamiento, no lo recomiendo en absoluto.

Ottimo B&B situato in una tranquilla zona residenziale ma non lontano dal centro di Edimburgo (con una bella passeggiata passando per il Dean Village ci vogliono circa 30/40 minuti o poche fermate di autobus). Eravamo 8 persone e tutti siamo rimasti soddisfatti. La casa è molto pulita e curata, camere grandi e con tutti i confort. Colazione tradizionale preparata al momento e con ampio buffet. I proprietari sono molto gentili, simpatici e premurosi. Un caro saluto e grazie di tutto.
