더 샌데이그(The Sandaig)

服務非常好，對面就是公交站，交通便利

The rooms are comfortable & the location is excellent, with efficient bus services 5 minutes away to go anywhere in Edinburgh. The Sandaig website gives out of date reviews about wonderful breakfast. The fact is there is no breakfast at all. The owners are not on site & we let ourselves in & had no greeting or farewell after the 3 days.

Room was spotless and warm, guy who received my was charm itself and VERY helpful. Bus service 50m from the hotel to the city centre, waterside at Leith docks a 15 minute walk tops. I stayed here because of wanting to visit Fisher's fish restaurant, but plenty of other pubs and eateries on the waterfront. Only downside was the lack of breakfast, not a probelm to walk down to the dockside, but in rainy weather might be a different story.

The Sandaig was in a nice location in Leith, and a good base for exploring a different part of Edinburgh. Our room did not have an en suite - although it did have it's own bathroom across the hallway. The room was very small - and it would have been better if there was at least a sink in there. We didn't see any staff the whole time we were there but checkin was all arranged by email and we had no problems. I think it was a bit expensive for what we got - especially as I don't think it was made clear in the booking that our bathroom would was not en suite. But we had a great weekend and would stay at the Sandaig again - as long as we didn't get room 6.

Andy the owner seemed nice and communication was good so I hesitate to write a poor review. However, I wish someone had written one for me to read to avoid my bad experience. Bed linen badly stained, clump of someone else’s hair on shower wall, couldn’t get hot water out shower even after reading hotel manual (tepid at best) so didn’t wash (and it was hair wash day! Girls can relate). Apart from general wall and furniture touch-up repainting, there was this bizarre, frequent, loud creaking without me moving. In reality, this felt like a 2 star establishment, not 4.

Easy access to transportation into Edinburgh. Unfortunately they were unable to provide breakfast however cup cakes or shortbread cookies were offered at reception and they were delicious. The room was quiet even though the hotel was in a busy area.

The place is great and Luke was amazing, super kind, very comfortable and in a lovely neighborhood, the park across the street is ideal for a morning walk

Luke is charming and welcoming and at hotel until 16:00 each day. He made the Trip to Edinburgh so warm. The rooms are spacious. The bus stops in front of the hotel. £5 for all day bus pass for anywhere in the city, there are two nice restaurants and a nice pub within two streets and a lovely park across the way.

We got a parking space right in front of the guest house, got into the hotel, very easily, and found our room. Very pleased to have a small glass of port that came with the room. We walked two blocks down to have dinner at a Polish restaurant, then walked across the street to have a glass of scotch in a pub with great ambience. The bus stops in Front tomorrow, so it will be very convenient.
