키리메이 호텔(Kyrimai Hotel)

Just about to go for a second fabulous dinner in Kyrimai’s dining room overlooking the sea. The restaurant is without peer in Mani, if not in all of Greece. And the setting, in wild and wonderful Mani, is superb. We’re here to celebrate my birthday, a perfect choice.

A really lovely unusual hotel. Nothing at all like the big Hilton like hotels that abound round Europe. Very nice staff, comfortable rooms, good food and a very nice location. If you want lots of activities this is not the place for you. But it is a great place for seeing the surrounding country and sites - obviously with a car.

Highly recommended to adults for a restful stay in a charming location. Remote – as special places often are – but well worth the effort to get there. An historic building renovated as an intimate 23-room hotel. Situated at the end of a promontory with a small bay and the town of Gerolimenas behind on one side and undeveloped coastline on the other. The common areas are relatively compact but feel larger because they look out to sea and there is nothing blocking the beautiful view on either side. Right on the sea, with access in from two small piers built out into the water, which is crystal clear. There are plenty of comfortable loungers and good quality beach towels available. The food is excellent and there is a good choice from an a la carte menu which is accompanied by a Greek wine list. The bedroom was charming and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge (one that was properly cold, not one of the annoying ones that are only just below room temperature). This year they introduced a ‘no young children’ policy. This seems sensible. The stone building is very old and there are levels and steps, some steep, everywhere. In the bedroom there was a steep ladder up to the bed platform. The common parts are not suited to childrens’ needs either: no beach; no play area away from adults seeking peace and quiet by the pool. This hotel is really suited - and ideal - for adults. The staff are charming - uniformly friendly and helpful. They do seem a little stretched at dinner time though with just two people looking after everyone. Breakfast is neither buffet not a la carte. A set selection of mini-dishes is brought to your table on a platter and you help yourself to what you want. Personally, I prefer to order what I really want from a menu or choose from a buffet. There must be a lot of waste doing it their way as we don’t all like the same things for breakfast. They do also seem to have a problem with wasps at outdoor breakfast. They are a nuisance and something a pest control professional could deal with. Small caveats for what is a very special place that I rate highly and to which I hope to return soon.

LOved, Loved, Loved this hotel. We were upgraded to a room with amazing views of the pool and sea in a very charming old room. The lovely pool is right next to the sea and you can use both. The staff were so wonderful and accommodating. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was one of the best meals of our trip with amazing views. The breakfast was amazing too. They bring a whole range of wonderful food to the table to sample.

Beautiful renovated old building in a nice setting by the sea. Access to the sea is via steps which some may find tricky but swimming is delightful. Outside seating for breakfast and dinner is very nice too but some things were not so good. Breakfast is provided as is - it’s nice but you don’t get a choice and is not that flexible for anyone with particular dietary needs. Our room was ok but had the smallest bathroom I think I’ve been in and the shower enclosure is not actually enclosed so you have to choose between a lousy shower or a drenched bathroom. Evening meal there is nice enough but almost amusingly over-priced. Having said that there are good tavernas I the village 5-10 minutes walk away where a good meal costs about a third of the price of the hotel. I’d like to be more enthused as it is an attractive location but in some respects it’s too prices are not matched by top facilities and service.

Hard to overstate the natural beauty this hotel is set in. Just stunning. The water is crystal clear and it’s surrounded by dramatic hills and mountains. The hotel itself is lovely. A fantastic renovation of an old set of builidings. The staff are lovely. The manager at front desk - Victoria was brilliant. The breakfast is good - it’s served to you rather than a buffet - but is flexible if needed. Dinner options are a bit on the pricey side but are excellent. All in all we’d come back in a heartbeat.

This was a cosy, excellent hotel with lots of relaxing locations. There were few flaws and I would proudly suggest this place to other people and families. This hotel has an inside and out Café with a ocean view, and a warm interior. They are kind and serve all your personal needs. The rooms were enormous yet cosy at the same time. The Mani is desolate. Rugged, often bare hills, poor soil and (historically) poorer people. Even today it's a road less travelled at the southern tip of the Peloponnese. So Kyrimai is completely unexpected. A complicated de-luxe warehouse conversion delivers a boutique hotel in a sheltered bay, facing the sea and backed by the hills. Rooms are varied - ours at the premium end had a balcony overlooking the sea and the pool, with a sitting room below and a suspended sleeping area above. There are good public spaces indoors and out, places to lounge, and direct access to the sea. But that's all secondary - come for the food. This is based on the raw materials of the Mani - fish, olives, honey, barley, pork - but recreated with both contemporary originality and respect to tradition. Tough to get right, but on our visit the chef's execution of the concept was spot on and the presentation and delivery of the food (breakfast as well as dinner) was pitch-perfect. It's not often that breakfast in a hotel is an event. It is at the Kyrimai. We found all the staff friendly, helpful and patient. Gerolimenas isn't exactly on the way to anywhere, and it's a goodly way FROM anywhere, but that's part of the charm. Go anyway, and chill with some very fine food in a memorable setting.

We just spent a week here at this fabulous hotel. What an absolute gem. The architecture of this building is amazing. We were in the gorgeous room 302 with a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. The room has everything you need. Victoria at reception was an absolute star. So kind, helpful and informative. We did a few walks and a lot of exploring and she gave us lots of recommendation with our trusty map! The food, staff, cocktails (😉) were all spot on. I can see why the restaurant has won awards for the food - absolutely delicious. The wild ruggedness of this deep Mani region is something else. Thank you all so much. ♥️
