Oh dear Michael! Only 4/5 from our visit. Suite great. Staff front of house great. But they were let down by kitchen service! We were contacted by front of house a week prior of our visit. 1915 for drinks, specifically 1945 to sit down. We sat down at the allotted time. And waited 1hr 15mins for first course. The front of house persistently apologised for delay but could not explain why!! When the food came out it was very good BUT we were 5 minutes from walking out! We have been frequent visitors to this location a testament to its usually quality service throughout. Please explain the lowering of kitchen ability to serve and I’ll be happy .

This is a fantastic place to stay. It’s our 3rd visit and equally as good as the two previous. The hotel, rooms and service are simply fantastic, as are the wonderful grounds. On top of that . . . . . the food - the signature tasting menu is incredible. Every course is as exceptional as the previous one and it really is quite an experience to try. On top of that, Michael is so lovely and friendly and just completes the experience. We’re already talking about when we can return and we only got home an hour a go :-)

Michael Cains visionary hotel lived up to all our expectations. The setting is beautiful and the attention to detail exceptional. Goes without saying the food was delicious. We enjoyed the ‘estuary/fish’ tasting menu and three delicious breakfasts. The team waiting and looking after the rooms were brilliant. Only one slight ****** in the dining room which marginally spoilt an otherwise perfect experience was a loud person nearby who spent half the evening shouting into his mobile phone. We were not the only people present who found this annoying . Perhaps a rule of no phones at dinner might be an idea?

Our stay at Lympstone Manor was magical. I chose this place to propose to my partner, surrounded by the manor's stunning beauty and outstanding service, enhanced by the staff's exceptional assistance in helping me plan my proposal. Both the lunch and dinner were delicious and a stunning setting, adding to the unforgettable experience. It's the perfect place for a special occasion, and we couldn't have asked for more. I highly recommend it to anyone.

We were a small business group and experienced exceptional food and service. Sumptuous luxury rooms, heated pool beautiful gardens and vineyard. Definitely the place for a special visit or celebration. Lovely sculptures in the garden and restful setting above the river

Excellent food and service in a stunning location. We stayed for three nights, eating in the main restaurant on one and the bar for the other two. The Estuary tasting menu was outstanding and we also enjoyed the informal bar food. The quality of service in all parts of the hotel is of the highest standard: staff are friendly and efficient and make every effort to be welcoming. The views from the hotel are lovely. Can strongly recommend.

The most amazing food experience. Beautiful surroundings and service. Michael Caine was present and came and chatted to us. Very nice down to earth man. You can see his passion for this stunning venue. I urge you all to go at some point for a special occasion.

As you approach the estate, it’s as pretty as you see on the internet, with a view of the estuary to your right, and you immediately feel excited about the experience ahead. We came as a family of four (2 teens) to celebrate hubby’s milestone birthday as hubby’s always been a fan of Michael Caines’ work, and had the Signature Tasting Menu. Sandwiched on either side of this menu were 3 amuse bouches and 3 petit fours, and interspersed with artisan bread during the first few dishes. We all adored the langoustine dish the most, and the 3 of them loved the cod too, whereas my second fave was the beef tartare. A few dishes I thought my daughter wouldn’t enjoy but she loved them all. (The kids have been to 3 Michelin restaurants, think we need to take a long hard look at ourselves at what monsters we have created!) For a very special occasion I can highly recommend Lympstone Manor. Disappointed we didn’t see/meet the main man, but we understand- this would have been the 🍒 on top. It was a 4 hr journey for us, so we stayed in a different property nearby for the weekend. Service great, ambience fab, artwork gorgeous. Hubby had an excellent time, which was all I could hope for.
