The Melia Hotel has deeply disappointed me and I cannot emphasize enough how much I despise this kind of unprofessional behavior. If such treatment were to happen in America, it would be unimaginable and would have immediate consequences. The observations I made at the hotel were anything but fair and friendly. It was clear that the staff was not only dishonest, but also intentionally trying to deceive the guests. This is unacceptable in any way, and I can only hope that the hotel is aware of the consequences. In the future, I will definitely avoid the Melia Hotel as well as all other hotels in this chain. There are so many other alternatives that care for their guests and maintain an authentic relationship with them. An institution like Melia should not be supported if they practice such tactics. There are truly better options that deserve to be supported.

Overall, the hotel is a decent business hotel with modern rooms, a good breakfast at a nice location in Düsseldorf. You can hear the noises of a major thoroughfare and the heavy trams which use this thoroughfare in the rooms towards the back of building . So, if you are noise sensitive like me, the rooms in the direction of the park should be your preferred choice as they are perfectly quiet. The reason for the low evaluation is the following incident: when I arrived at the hotel in the evening after a long day and a business dinner, I had to find out that my room had already been prepared for the next guest. None of my personal belongings were left in the hotel room! As the reception had correctly confirmed my departure date during check in, there must have been obviously a miscommunication within the hotel about my departure date. I can accept that such miscommunication within a hotel can happen. However, what I cannot accept is the fact that my personal belongings could actually not be found any more in the hotel on that evening after I did inform the reception about my problem. I was provided that night with a toothbrush, a shaving kit and some other bathroom utensils. In the next morning, my belongings still had not surfaced so that I had to go to my business meeting with the same clothes that I had worn the day before. Right before my meeting started at 9:00 in the morning, I received a phone call from the hotel that my personal belongings had been found and were ready to be picked up at the hotel, 15km away from where I was at that point. After an intervention of the corporate travel manager, the belongings were carried to my meeting location by taxi and arrived before noon that day. On the positive side, the reception staff was very friendly and I was actually offered a monetary compensation for the lost clothes (something I declined, as I was certain that the belongings would surface at some point again; as I had to leave for my business meeting at that point in the morning, there would have been no time to buy new clothes. And buying clothes at 08:00 in the morning in Dusseldorf is a difficult undertaking anyhow). However, being “nice” only goes so far for a business hotel. For me, it is plainly unbelievable that the personal belongings of a hotel guest can just be removed from the hotel room and disappear for some time. I have now waited ten days for an official response from the Melia management, but as this response has not been forthcoming, I feel I would like to share this experience. May be there will be a reaction based on this post. If there will be, please do not tell me that you are "committed to meet and exceed the expectations" of your guests. At least in my case, these expectations were not met.

Just a 1 night stay. Nice modern city centre hotel with attractive park next door and (not too noisy) trams out front. Check in was fine and the room a good size, modern and in excellent condition. Very comfortable bed. In room payable mini bar options but a shame they don’t throw anything in on a complimentary basis. Breakfast area next morning was nice (with also some limited outside seating. Food choice and quality was OK. Shame the juices are not freshly squeezed. Feels like a place that will do a job for most visitors.

The Melia is located near to an U-bahn station and about 15 minutes walk through a park from Dusseldorf old town. The hotel is a standard chain hotel with good facilities and efficient service. The rooms are reasonably good although we had a lot of noise from the adjacent main road as our window didn't close properly on the first night and we had to get the hotel maintenance team to fix this on the next day. There was a good quality buffet breakfast.

Very impressed with the staff and quality of this lovely boutique-style hotel. Boutique-style, but with a strong bang, including a lovely restaurant/bar, sauna, and a wonderful and fully stacked lounge with drinks and snacks and tapas all day. Excellent location as well, so amazing to just spend a couple of days completing work and also taking time to relax and see Dusseldorf. The rooms are a little but on the smaller side but are wonderfully kept and have all the amenities one requires including excellent mattresses and pillows and lots of water and coffee. The staff are PHENOMENAL. I had my toddler and wife with me on this trip and they went out of their way to accommodate us. At the restaurant they brought my daughter toys to play with, and the food was fantastic (highly recommend the club sandwich). I congratulate the management on a job well done and as I am coming to Dusseldorf repeatedly for work I have my place to stay now.

Very happy with the hotel for its service, cleanliness, location, room size and amenities . The Tesla charger was a special touch! If I have to give feedback - just a recommendation to increase the vegetarian options at breakfast and at Level. Overall, a lovely stay!

Firstly a special thank you for Roberto who arranged a twin room for myself and daughter. The hotel is in the city and not far from the airport. The quickest route into the centre is through the park which is lovely. It did look a bit dodgy late at night so just be careful. Everything with the hotel was very good, nice room, good size towels, lovely shower etc etc. Maybe add a few more comfy chairs in the bar area for people to enjoy a drink rather than sitting at the restaurant tables. Prices in the bar were very reasonable. I have seen some odd reviews on TA but I have to say that we really enjoyed the hotel, staff and location.

What ever is missing it will never ever get refilled again and the room Air Conditioning is controlled by the front desk which is not safe and don’t have control over your own rooms especially if you have kids and the A/C was not cooling at all. Mattress was smelling very bad and I have informed them several times along with refills but they didn’t care and never brought me a refill. What they care is about money. Very bad service. Very bad pillow and not comfortable at all. No conditioner and bed linen asked to be changed and get refill but they never did and mattress was smelly. No amenities inside the toilet. Night shift front desk staff are very rude and not helpful at all. Don’t waste your money for stay in super small room and no services at all. Not worth to pay for such hotel with frozen foods and zero service. This is the reality Food & drinks: Breakfast is good but all what they offer are frozen foods. Bread, Eggs, cakes, can juices and meats. Nothing is fresh and healthy so you pay for frozen foods only and their staff is very rude.
