Rumba rooms are great, spacious and well equipped. Food excellent Pool with a great view Private beach Staff were so good , the most helpful and knowledgable of everywhere we stayed. Simone and Camille especially on reception. All bar/restaurant staff v friendly and service was good. Tour of the studio was great . Lots of steps mean not good for those with mobility issues. Take a torch as not all is well lit Some areas look as though they need a lick of paint. At first we felt the communal areas were a bit basic but the staff and the hotel room made up for this. Port Antonio town is worth a visit, the locals are all very similes and like to chat. They appreciate the trade as well. Local beaches nearly , Frenchmen’s cove is beautiful but costs roughly £12 per person to enter, Sun beds are also available for hire.

My daughter was just married at Geejam and the entire experience was fantastic. They setting was perfect, the staff was super helpful, and the hotel/villas/views were magnificent. The staff helped with everything and added very helpful suggestions along the way. It was a medium sized wedding of about 45 guests. We had the rehersal dinner and wedding at their beach and the reception at Bushbar. The food for the entire weekend and at the main event was fantastic. Too bad it is over, I could have stayed there another week.

Stunning hotel in a beautiful location. Very well run as evidenced by great staff. Laid back and luxurious, but with a fun bar and a restaurant with excellent food. A world class experience with easy access to all Portland has to offer, from the beaches to the mountains.

This place is secluded, it was everything we were looking for. We love it. It’s located in the hills overlooking the ocean, they have their own beach, other beaches are close by. The food is amazing. On our first night we were invited by one of the owners to visit their recording studio on site. It’s a must to go to Geejam

Words can’t even express how wonderful my birthday was at Geejam. The staff, food and atmosphere was everything 10/10 minus nothing. “Special Thanks” to Steve who made my stay remarkable and welcoming, Cathy for taking such great care of me and the bar supervisor for always ensuring that I am well fed and entertained. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel to every and anyone who visits Portland as you will be treated like a family than a guest! One Love🫶🏾

Let me start by saying Portland is the Parish and Geejam is the place! It had been 40+ years since I 'd been back to Jamdown but I fell in love with Porty then and I feel the same way now. It's beautiful but it's the Jamaican people that make the place special. Beaver is the man! A fantastic host who gets it, with a support staff that is the best, all the way around! I can't remember all the names but taximan Reuben, Ricardo at the bar, the girls in reception, Patricia and Arthur on the beach and I can't leave out the Chef & company. I'm all about the North Coast and Everyone at Geejam is top shelf! Papa Jay & Mama Lisa say, "Check it, seen!"

On the recommendation of a friend who previously lived in Jamaica, we selected the Port Antonio area for our trip. We were told that this is where Jamaicans go for vacation, away from touristy commercialism but full of natural beauty and adventure. We feel so lucky to have found Geejam. As others have mentioned, the staff are incredible, the food is delicious, the vibe is relaxed, and the setting is gorgeous. As visual artists, we appreciated all the aesthetic choices and attention to detail. On our first night there, co-owner Steve introduced himself to us and made us feel we had found a friend. Another evening, Steve gave a music studio tour, which was a treat to hear incredible stories of music we love that has been made at Geejam. Trips to local sites are easily arranged through guest services and there is plenty to do each day. Still, we found ourselves drawn to Geejam's own beach where there are reefs to explore and loggerhead turtles to swim among. Here we thought this was a once in a lifetime trip, and we are already thinking about when we can go back.

We just returned from our 4th stay at Geejam and it just keeps getting better! Our first stay many years ago was in Ska when there were only 4 cabins plus Sanwood Villa on the property. There have been some wonderful changes since then with the addition of the 12 awesome Rumba rooms, the beautiful infinity pool, a reception office, the spruced up beach areas, the Bushbar expansion, and the recording studio upgrade. This is our favourite place in the world for rest and relaxation. In fact it’s the only place I’ve seen my “always need to be doing something” husband, have a nap after lunch, or even breakfast. That’s because Geejam takes such good care of you that you don’t need to stress about anything. Want to go rafting on the Rio Grande with lunch at Belinda’s (which we highly recommend)? Just text reception on WhatsApp and they will arrange everything. Same for a trip to town, Frenchman’s Cove, Winnifred Beach, dinner at Soldiers Camp (Yum) or Charlie Brown’s Art and Craft store to pick up a beautifully carved treasure to take home. We stayed 14 nights at Drum and Bass this trip, as well as a night in a Rumba room on our arrival. The Rumba room was exceptionally well designed and decorated while and providing a feeling of seclusion. Slick surfaces, huge room, wonderful spacious bathroom and a stunning view from your private staggered balcony. BUT nothing beats the D&B deck view and privacy. We like to sit out late in the evening and listen to the waves, tree frogs, and other fauna. It’s truly magical. It’s easy to keep active if that’s what you want to do. There is an air conditioned gym, but we generally find the stairs provide plenty of exercise. The walk up to Panorama and Cocosan is a great hike with little traffic and amazing views. There is also a small grocery just down the main road (500m) where you can find snacks, pop, liquor or items you may have forgotten to bring. Bushbar food and service was exceptional. It was recommended our first night to pre-order our food as it was expected to be busy in the restaurant . It worked so well we just continued the practice of sending Bushbar our order via WhatsApp about and hour before heading up for dinner. Geejam is the only place we have ever stayed where, on our last morning, the chef and the restaurant staff came to say goodbye, and were even so kind as to give both of us a parting gift. Steve is usually around daily checking in with guests, recommending activities or destinations, and making sure your stay is great. It’s all truly touching.
