The Lawrence is outstanding. My wife and I have traveled around much of Ireland, but had never been to Derry. We heard it was a beautiful town that was rich in history. We were looking for a boutique hotel in a central location. The Lawrence was perfect in every way. The location was close to the city center, yet a few blocks away on a quiet street. The rooms were beautifully furnished, inviting and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and offered a good selection of items in two courses. The staff always went out of their way to help and ensure that our experiences were great ones.

We stayed here for three great nights. The beds and rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is very good and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The location is good to walk into town and explore the wonderful coast line if you are driving.

We had such a special experience staying at the Lawrence with both the thoughtful design and the incredible hospitality standing out. From the moment we arrived, Emmett, Colin and Colum went out of their way to ensure our visit was meaningful. Book it now!

The hotel and service was amazing, the value for money and standard of food was second to none. My only complaint was that the self contained apartment (poets corner) leads to a courtyard where all of the bins are stored and on our particular stay the staff chose to put bottles in the bottle bin from 7.30am to 7.50am. This was not considerate of us sleeping when check out isn't until 11am. So we loved everything about it apart from the noise.

We stayed two nights at The Lawrence, a former nunnery. The property is absolutely stunning and restored to an incredibly high standard.
We stayed in the James Joyce room which was very comfortable.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was wonderful.
We received a free wine on our first evening in the lounge.
It’s a 10 minute walk into town.
We will definitely be staying here when we’re back in Derry.

Gorgeous boutique style guest house. Historic house but updated to modern and really stylish standard
Loved the decor and the lounge with honesty bar and real fire was so comfy didnt want to move!!
Lovely made to order breakfast and staff so friendly and accomodating
Would highly recommend as walkable to all shops restaurants and bars
Will definitely return, so much nicer, more personal and stylish than the Holiday Inns and Maldron hotels !!
