디 엘진 실버 오크, 칼림퐁(The Elgin Silver Oaks - Heritage Resort & Spa)

The Elgin Silver Oaks in Kalimpong was a delightful stay for our family with young children. The Elgin family of hotels was able to accommodate a last minute change in reservation at our request and they did so with kindness and hospitality. Our stay at the Silver Oaks was truly outstanding. From the comfortable and spacious rooms to the gorgeous grounds, outstanding and friendly staff to the delicious food - we truly spent a lovely time wandering the grounds and exploring Kalimpong.

It was a great stay. I was overwhelmed as soon as we landed at the hotel. The ambience was just perfect. I was assuming the hotel should be a little old fashioned as it was written "since 1932". To my utter surprise the hotel is well maintained , the staff are well trained. We loved the location. We loved the landscape. The buffet breakfast was also good. But the food is a little bit overpriced. Of course it was expected. My only problem is that as there was no AC we expected a ceiling fan instead of a pedestal fan. The room was very spacious, the fan could not cater to our need. There should be a per***ent solution especially in the summer.

Our second trip to this beautiful colonial hotel with great views over Kalimpong. We had a lovely room at the front of the hotel overlooking the gardens. Cleanliness was to a very high standard throughout and we enjoyed a delicious Indian meal in the evening in the restaurant. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent stay. We enjoyed every moment of it right from the welcoming. Decor has the old world charm. View of the mountains from the window was mesmerising. Staffs were courteous and polite. Bonfire under the starry sky was truly invigorating

This review has been long overdue. We last stayed here in August 2022. It's a peaceful sanctuary in the middle of the bustling town centre and is one of the coziest stays in this part of the country. Located brilliantly, in a popular tourist area with ***y shops, restaurants, and other sites, it is within walking distance of almost all of the major attractions. Sitting on the terrace, sipping on your favourite beverage, one is treated to a breathtaking view of the mountains, the landscaped gardens and Ferro, the wonderful Samoyed on the property (we didn't ***age to see him though on our last trip). We couldn't recommend this property enough.

Beautiful colonial architecture, old world charm and exceptional service & hospitality

This hotel is such an amazing place. From the fittings, furniture etc to the elegant aura of the place. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were dressed probably as they always have been. Service was spot on, there was even a lady in the bedroom corridor who would great you and assist with anything as you came and went. The gardens are well tended and a good place to sit. A newly erected sun terrace for the views too. It's within walking distance of the town and the extensive market.

We were bowled over by the beauty of this hotel, the attentiveness and pleasant demeanour of the staff, the wonderful views from the terrace and the bedroom, and the excellence of the food. We were so sad that the hotel was underoccupied, because of the fall-off in the tourist industry and the inaccessibility caused by the tragedy of the dam burst higher up the River Teesta. They really deserve to have more customers and for more foreign tourists to know about this interesting and beautiful corner of West Bengal. Come on everyone - flock to the Elgin!

Heritage Property of Elgin group, excellent location, Vintage furniture , classy rooms, excellent bathroom , only a bit overpriced. Must visit for who ever is planning Kalimpong. Market is very close from hotel and please have lunch outside ,as lot of options are there.
