I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience at The Taj Chia Kutir Resort and Spa in Darjeeling.As returning guests, my friend and I had high expectations based on our previous stay. A month prior to our arrival, I had requested a room on a higher floor with a king-sized bed. I had been in communication with Aditya, who assured me that my request would be accommodated. However, upon arrival, we were assigned room 615 on the 6th floor of the second wing. While the balcony offered a view of the mountains and some barren lands, it did not provide the exact or breathtaking view that Wing 1 offers. Upon settling into the room, I immediately contacted the reception to express my dissatisfaction. They tried to convince me that the room was special, but I insisted on speaking with Aditya. He suggested reaching out to Mr. Anil Gautam, who was able to assist me. Thanks to Anil, I was relocated to room 505 in Wing 1, which offered the magnificent view I had been expecting. Unfortunately, my check-out experience on April 25, 2024, was far from satisfactory. After breakfast, I started feeling feverish and requested a slightly later check-out time. Having been a loyal guest of the Taj for the past 15 years, I was aware of their flexibility in such situations. However, this time, things did not go as expected. A staff member named Khusi began calling me persistently, displaying unprofessional behavior. Without my consent, she sent a bellboy to my door, who incessantly knocked while I was in the washroom. When I finally answered the call, Khusi's demeanor was strange and unprofessional, insisting that I vacate the room immediately. This incident raises concerns about Khusi's previous association with IHCL before joining Chia Kutir. Does she understand how to treat returning and loyal guests of IHCL? Furthermore, why does she continuously call when a guest is unwell? I hope this feedback helps in improving the overall guest experience at The Taj Chia Kutir Resort and Spa.
