제트윙 빌 우야나(Jetwing Vil Uyana)

The hotel Vil Uyan is a very special eco residence which also delivers on excellent cuisine and understated luxury. The lodges are nestled in the forest and by the lake offering unparalleled peace and seclusion. The service is warm and genuine. I had the best gin martini ever and a world class margarita - all very good value. The wildlife is abundant but fortunately not too intrusive.

We were booked into this hotel by a tour company. We stayed 2 nights in Forest Dwelling Room 133 and several days later returned for another two nights in Forest Dwelling Room 135. The rooms were identical except the second room was missing the flashlight, the mosquito net around the bed, and the safe never worked despite alerting our "butler" to that fact. The pool had leaves in it when we arrived and more when we left two days later. Our first night in the second stay in Room 135 upon returning from dinner we found two piles of excrement on the floor of the downstairs bathroom space. We called housekeeping who came to clean the floor. He said bats came in because we had turned off the lights, however, when you go to dinner you take the keys with you which causes the lights to go off. We never had this unfortunate experience in Room 133. It felt like the staff had simply forgotten about Room 135 and us. The hotel restaurant has many choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the restaurant staff were always helpful and pleasant. The hotel's site and landscaping is lovely.

Had a fantastic time at the Jetwing Vil Uyana, the accommodation was excellent and the staff could not have done more for us. The hotel is in a secluded location, in a managed jungle setting with abundant wildlife and is within easy reach by taxi of Dambulla and Sigiriya. The food was excellent and served in a picturesque, open sided, dining area overlooking the lake. We had an extremely relaxing three nights and would thoroughly recommend the hotel to others.

This is an amazing hotel! Sadly we initially didn’t get to see the best of it. The first thing to note is that this hotel is very much about being at one with nature - all of the bathrooms are open and so wildlife will be a part of your stay - it’s a unique dynamic and something to be aware of when booking. It’s a very large site and most of the rooms need to be accessed via a golf buggy at night. Sadly we arrived later than planned and in the dark which was disorienting given the size of the hotel and meant our check-in was chaotic. When we arrived we found our bathroom full of ants and then discovered the air conditioner was spitting dead ants across our bed. When we reported this issue it was resolved very quickly and the staff took the problem very seriously. We were moved to a lovely new room where the staff went above and beyond to make the rest of our stay amazing. The food was great and fine dining in style - the breakfast is something special. The staff are very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help us celebrate our recent marriage, decorating our room and presenting us with a lovely cake as we were leaving. The site itself is truly amazing and we saw a monitor lizard, monkeys and the resident crocodile! Being woken by the peacocks was lovely. A great stay despite the hiccups and we hope to be back to experience more on our next trip to Sri Lanka!

This was a superb, top class hotel. The facilities were excellent, and the food, including the wine cellar, was wonderful. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and arranged to us to join a loris walk, an elephant safari and an incredible night time safari. The setting was amazing, especially for people interested in animals and nature.

Our visit was the start of our Sri Lankan tour and it was a perfect place to start. All the staff were very friendly, engaging and accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The food was of a very high standard for both breakfast and dinner. It was our anniversary and they made it a very special occasion . Super relaxing and a great base for Sirigya. Situated in a paddy Marsh it attracted amazing wildlife, birds and nocturnal animals. Would definitely recommend!

Idyllic setting with an amazing array of wildlife. The chalet and plunge pool were very comfortable, the setting a world away from life's busyness. Ravindra could not have been more helpful and infact cooked biryani for me which was not on the menu. We would most definitely return.

We recently spent 3 nights at this wonderful hotel. It was unlike anywhere we have ever stayed before. We stayed in a Marsh/Paddy Dwelling with a plunge pool and it was perfect. It was spacious, clean and beautifully presented. We saw Peacocks, a crocodile, a snake and numerous monkeys, birds & lizards. I wish we had the time to go on the wildlife walk and see the Loris but we ran out of time. So much interesting wildlife to see! Our butler, whose name I have shamefully forgotten, was absolutely wonderful and nothing was too much trouble for him to ensure that our stay was everything we wished for and more. The food was superb and the restaurant staff attentive and friendly. In all, my only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! I hope we will be able to return in the future.
