Absolutely beautiful from the minute you drive in the property was gorgeous the staff was amazing and the location was so very convenient to all local attractions

Great resort facility in an outstanding location. The best place to stay if you’re coming to dive with the manatee.

If you’re expecting a boutique hotel then this is not it. If you’re not from the area you’re better off booking somewhere in Tampa and driving in for a tour. The hotel room was clean enough but the hallways in the buildings look as if we were staying in some sort of lifeless hollow lonely institution. There’s no warmth or comfort in this place. It needs a serious facelift. They used bright white fluorescent bulbs in all the lamps in our room which right there tells me management does not know how to operate that hotel. It would be cute if they took care of the place and invested in a remodel. The hot tub was dirty even with an extremely strong chemical smell. The staff was pleasant but it’s not service or amenity as if you were staying at a more upscale hotel. The adventure center on the property was convenient because we wanted to see the manatees but I’d suggest one night here only not a whole vacation. I considered leaving and getting a place in Tampa for the night. In my opinion this is also probably the best option in town. So if your use to a little more luxe just be aware that this is not a boutique hotel, it’s equivalent to a motel 6 which is fine but that’s just not how they advertise it. Also I’d like to note its plantation theme. Just like Cesar’s palace in Vegas is themed Roman. The building is not a historical building to my knowledge if it is they do not maintain it as such.

Loved: he room decor with LVP wood grain flooring, subtle hues of pickled pistachio green wood furniture including a comfortable desk chair, and upholstered easy chair, tall bedside tables with drawer and cabinet, light accent wall in blue adjacent to butter yellow walls and unique artwork. Bedside & desk lamps with buttons on the bases for easy on/off, a power ***** for easy device charging. The pocket door that leads to the bathroom, and split A/C unit that properly registers thermostat settings. The bed’s coordinating bolster pillow and small accent pillow, wifi that requires no password. The taller mini-fridge. DID NOT LOVE Absence of an ottoman for the corner easy chair, the leaf print of the blackout drapes (even though it works with the room’s color scheme), the ‘motel’ level bathroom amenities and plastic toilet seat. Absence of an exhaust fan in bathroom, the echos of the hallway and upstairs guest conversations that only having the TV on drowns out (my exceedingly noisy neighbors apparently obtuse to the existence of others in the hotel), noise from opening and closing (slamming) of doors and footfalls (no doubt due in part to the absence of carpet). It would be nice to situate guests beside vacant rooms rather than assigning side by side rooms just so their stay isn’t intruded upon by rude neighbors whose early morning gatherings (5:45 a.m. - really?) represent the single drawback to an otherwise enjoyable property.

Location for the activities we were looking to participate in made this wonderful. With recent hurricane damage, there were a few things that were still in need of repair, but how can anyone not understand that. Staff was very nice and helpful. Restaurant on site was great, and the property had on site excursions available and the pool and hot tub were great. I would stay there again

It's looking aged, although that also provides character. It was clean, has amenities. Accommodating to your needs. And tons of manatees to see

We were pretty disappointed that we had a parking lot view when I booked way ahead of time to get a river view as seen on my booking. Can we get reimbursement for the difference between a river view price and parking lot price?

I almost didn't book based on the reviews, but this property has seemingly come a long way since the storms impacted it. The grounds were lovely and we had a great time playing croquet on their manicured field, volleyball on the sand pit, life size chess, and enjoying the pool and hot tub. The room was decent, though the space heater did throw us for a loop. It was clean though and the beds were fine. A few rooms down from us they were renovating, but we never had any noise or inconvenience. The rooms could use a bit of sound-proofing as we could hear the tv from the room next to us, but was not that big of an issue. The location next to the activity center can't be beat and we loved swimming with the manatees!

Despite the hurricane and tornado damage, the hotel was up and running, renovating, and everyone was super friendly. Can’t wait to go back again.
