Although the room was clean and warm it was nothing like the ads. The room was small, the door had no spy hole and the bathroom door opened outwards. The bar had very unusual closing times, if it was quiet it would close at 10.00pm instead of the adverts 11.00pm, even for residents.

The rooms were comfortable for what you pay for them but what absolutely stood out was the excellent and compassionate service by the team, especially Zane and Lewis. I had to visit due to a family emergency and they were so helpful in waiting for my late arrival, showing a genuine interest in how things were going and really understanding the stress we are all under. The cooked full English breakfast was also really tasty and set me up well for each day! We also ate in the pub in the evening and the food was great with really generous portions at good prices with a friendly team, worth popping in even if you aren't staying over.

food was amazing and the service was quicker than expected. The staff was friendly and funny, especially zane the manager was very helpful and welcoming, I will for sure come back and will be recommending this place to other friends and family.

The Royal Artillery Association Scunthorpe Branch had their 13th Annual Dinner/Dance on Saturday 11th May 2024. We all had a brilliant night. Good food, and good entertainment. Zane and his staff done very well indeed. Only problem the Beef was well cooked, but very difficult to cut. This was the only problem we had last year.

Spent 4 weeks here whilst working in the area. Great service, friendly staff and comfortable stay. Management, cleaners, bar staff and kitchen staff all maintain a high standard. Rooms are simple but have all the basics you would need. Will visit again when I’m next in the area.

A bloody good hotel! Fine friendly staff comfortable rooms as well as a good nights sleep. Couldn't recommend more. You'll b ehappier than a pig in muck in this place. If you are visiting the beautiful Scunthorpe then the Royal Hotel is your place.

Just home from another trip to Scunthorpe and a stay at my home away from home, The Royal. It’s always good to visit and the staff at The Royal go out of their way to way to make sure that I have a good experience. Zane and his able assistant Jenny are a credit to the place

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Royal Hotel, Scunthorpe, and we would like to thank the manager Zane, and all his staff for a very enjoyable visit. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen was absolutely spotless, as were the towels in the bathroom and the bathroom itself. The food was first class and very reasonably priced, and the menu very wide and interesting. The drinks were well priced too. Every member of staff that we met could not have been more pleasant, kind and helpful, which as we are seniors (I am over ninety), was greatly appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend the Royal Hotel and would certainly make it our choice when we visit Scunthorpe again.

We come to the Royal Hotel for food at least once per month I honestly cannot express the value for money. Two meals for £11.49 I always get Chicken Katsu amazing and tasty my husband has gammon steak you get two eggs two gammon steaks chips and peas incredible. Just try it you will not be disappointed Jenny &Lewis are so friendly and compliments to the chef Jo never has a bad meal yet xx
