Good experience overall: Best features: very clean and liked the welcome for our poodle. Garden room was very helpful for him and he was allowed to accompany us to the dining room. Lovely views. Breakfast was delicious with freshly prepared hot items from a menu. What would make it even better: Staff seemed a bit rushed so couldn't give a relaxed service. We would have liked a menu to refer to. Tasting menu had nice items such as White bean veloute and Rhubarb and Ginger dessert but some courses didn't quite meet our expectations.

We received a voucher from my Mum for Xmas, and we were interested as we had never heard of St Fillans. We drove into a picturesque little village where we enjoyed a walk along the loch and enjoyed the natural scenery. Room We booked a standard double room and stayed in Lubnaig. We were very impressed with the room, it was bright and breezy with views over the loch. The room has all of the amenities you could need with an Alexa, sky box, coffee machine and binoculars to bird watch. The room itself was incredibly clean and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean. The only slight downside was the electric shower had less pressure than we would have liked, but the bubble bath was lovely and everything else about the room was perfect. The bed itself was like sleeping on a cloud. If you have a larger than a double bed, like us, at home then please do not worry about compromising your sleep. The bed is so comfortable that your sleep will not be compromised in any way. Food We had dinner at the restaurant. The only word I can describe is “wow”. As a couple who like nice dinners, I can safely say that this meal was one of the best meals we have ever had. It was a very relaxed dinner, where the courses were not rushed out to you. This to us, was a welcome change and is not something we have experienced in the IK, more so abroad. It allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our dining experience. I had every intention of taking photos of our dinners, but the temptation to start right away was too hard. We both had lamb which was melt in the mouth and fantastic. I can’t describe it any better than just amazing. For dessert we had the cheeseboard. Unlike some places where a cheeseboard tastes like a supermarket pre packed cheese, this cheeseboard was out of this world. I can’t remember the names of the cheeses but we had a black truffle cheese, a Swiss cheese with flowers through it (sounds obscure, tastes sublime) and some other cheeses. It was hands down the best cheeseboard I have ever had in a restaurant. In short, have dinner there you will NOT regret it. Breakfast was lovely, we had porridge and a full Scottish. No complaints, the portions were large and enjoyable. Staff The staff were lovely and very attentive. I was unable to get the general managers name, and if she told me it has sadly escaped my memeory. She was so knowledgable on the food within the restaurant and spoke us through the food. She was so friendly and approachable.

Nice location, we had a view overlooking the loch and hills beyond. Food was very overpriced with small portions. Some breakfast items were halved, half a piece of haggis, black pudding, potato scone etc. Bed was comfortable and clean. It was a nice place to stay but wouldn’t advise eating there. Staff were friendly but owner was very abrupt and quite regimented.

Rarely do you find such a little gem. From booking to check out everything was excellent. Friendly and efficient check in and escorted to our well appointed and, what proved to be, a very comfortable room. It had a sun trap patio area with loch views. Ideal for us to relax and unwind with a glass of wine after our journey. Our evening meal was the taster menu and was excellent. In quality, presentation and quantity just perfect. Obviously an excellent chef. Laura & Claire made us truly welcome throughout our stay. They have created a very efficient yet very friendly environment. Thanks ladies we will be back.

Just back from a two night break at Achray House and we will definitely be returning. Don't be fooled by the friendly laid back welcome at Achray the attention to detail in the dining room is absolutely faultless. Food was probably the best we've eaten on any of our short breaks. Many city restaurants could learn from this place. Presentation exquisite and imaginative with well thought out flavours attention to detail in every course superb and staff knowledge of the food and wine exceptional professional but friendly resulting in very relaxed happy diners. We had the A La Carte menu on both evenings but there is also a tasting menu with wine pairing available at an equally high standard. The views over the Loch are amazing and staff couldn't do enough to make this a very special anniversary. Thank you all at Achray House.

We booked last minute for a birthday surprise. Our room was cosy, warm with excellent bedding, bed and beautiful shower room. We were in Room 10 - Ard which is I think a smaller room with no view (which we knew) but it was very well thought out and had everything we needed. We were greeted by Claire and made to feel very welcome. You come here for the food and the inviting dining room was busy for dinner on a Monday evening with the fire lit, beautiful views of the Loch and hills and the fairy lights as it grew dark. We opted for the a la carte which was all so delicious, with a Greek red wine chosen from a varied and different wine list. The service was friendly but professional and hit just the right note for a restaurant with rooms where the passion for their food and wine shines through … Claire was kind enough to bring out a glass of one of their favoured rose wines to pair with a salmon starter and her enthusiasm was infectious. Breakfast was just as lovely with a great choice and an incredible view! There is a real sense here of everyone involved wanting guests to enjoy beautiful food in an outstanding location … it’s a real find and we can’t wait to return - thank you!

The lodge was comfy and cosy. All facilities in lodge were excellent. Quiet and peaceful with fantastic scenery and views. Would definitely recommend for couples looking for a quiet break. We would definitely go back, but probably in the 'summer' when there is less chance of snow!

Lovely luxurious room in this wonderful location. The views across the loch were amazing! Fantastic, interesting food, good, well chosen wines, all served with information on the cuisine! Service and staff were great, friendly and efficient. Impossible to fault this!

Our second visit to Achray House we stayed for one night in their Earn Suite which was a lovely large room with a Queen size bed smart tv, wifi and an Alexa with lovely views of Loch Earn and surrounding hills. Laura and the team are always very welcoming and as we were celebrating a significant birthday we decided to try their six course tasting menu with wine pairing. Wow …absolutely fabulous and a real treat for the tastebuds. Achray House pride themselves on their dinner and breakfast experience and fantastic customer service and both the food and wine are consistently excellent. The tasting menu is a culinary journey using the best of Scottish produce accompanied by wines from across Europe. Laura herself explained each course and the chosen wine pairing to enhance the tasting experience. Breakfast the following morning with fantastic Loch Earn views was also excellent and cooked fresh to order. We loved our stay at Achray House, would highly recommend and we will definitely return!
