블랙웰 하우스(Blackwell House)

We spent a most enjoyable night at Blackwell House and only have good words to say about our experience. The rooms and communal spaces are very comfortable and modern and it is located in a very quiet spot in delightful countryside 40 minutes' drive southwest of Belfast, close to the motorway. This small boutique hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere, and the hosts Edele & Alessio are absolute delightful. Undoubtedly one of the best features is the amazing food, much of which is sourced locally. I thoroughly advise booking in for the tasting menu in the evening and for opting for the home-produced eggs and Irish sausage for breakfast!

During a recent trip from Dublin to Mahee Island, our car broke down just outside of Banbridge. The roadside repair was beyond our capabilities, and the tow truck company was unable to return us to Dublin that evening. Finding a hotel room for our family proved to be more challenging than anticipated, as most nearby hotels were fully booked. As our concerns grew with each rejection, Blackwell House came to our rescue! From the moment we contacted them, the customer service provided by Edele and Alessio was exceptional. They arranged a last-minute dinner for our family at a local restaurant and even drove us there. The connecting Orchard and Charleston Rooms we stayed in were delightful and comfortable, perfect for a family of four. Breakfast the following morning featured mainly local and sustainable produce, expertly prepared and a real treat. Our unexpected one-night stay turned out to be such a positive experience, as the genuine kindness of Edele, Allesio, and their lovely family overshadowed the stress of our car breakdown. We spent 2 weeks in the UK, Scotland, and Ireland and the Blackwell house was at the top with the award winning food and exceptional service from the owners! The doggo Rielly was a treat to have around for dinners and breakfast! The bed was a pillow top as well which is always a bonus!

We spent some amazing days at the Blackwell House - Edele and Alessio are wonderful hosts. The rooms as well as the whole interior of the house is beautifully refurbished and the food is of excellent quality. We also had a dinner there which I highly recommend as it was a great experience… Alessio also provided us with the extra service of booking t-times at nearby golfcourses…there are several golfcourses within less than a 30min drive.

Me and my daughter had a wonderful stay at Blackwell House. This beautifully newly refurbished country house offers all you could wish for and expect from a 5*! Very comfortable beds, beautiful grounds with herbs garden, a pound, hot tub and sauna and even a fairy garden and chickens. To top it all off the food served is absolutely delicious, from breakfast to dinner with special mention for the fabulous afternoon tea. Thanks Edele & Alessio for your warm hospitality and making us feel like at home. We will definitely come back!

Amazing Guest House in the country side. We stayed for 3 nights and will come again. Super friendly hosts, very nicely decorated interior as well as typical first class Irish breakfast. Well located to visit some of the many landmarks of Northern Ireland.

A little idyll in the countryside This lovely 5* guesthouse is located between Dublin and Belfast and has been run by Alessio and Edele Rampa with their 3 children since this year. All rooms have been newly painted and refurnished with a lot of love and taste. Lots of little details that made the stay and the atmosphere even nicer. The garden with a whirlpool bath, a pond and various small squares invites you to linger with a glass of wine or a drink. The breakfast was always freshly prepared, varied and the homemade bread on top was excellent. The dinners were varied and imaginative, tasted well seasoned and beautifully presented. 5* plus! The hosts are very warm and open and will help you with information about excursion destinations, sights, nearby restaurants, pubs, etc. I will definitely return again. All the best Rene

Steve and Joyce are the most wonderful hosts! Their home, the rooms (we stayed in three), the breakfasts, the gardens, and their precious dog (Murphy) surpassed all expeditions. We also booked a dinner one night, which was also exceptional. Blackwell House the the perfect base to explore Northern Ireland, yet come home to an idyllic peaceful oasis. We left feeling like we were saying good-bye to friends. Cannot wait to return next time we are in Ireland! Thank you Joyce and Steve!!

Be careful of booking this establishment on *********** They take 100% payment about 14 days prior to arrival ., 3 of us paid £500 for one night but due to bad weather , the sporting event that we were attending in the area was postponed two days before arrival . Our plea for a sense of fairness and even a partial credit note to use again fell on deaf ears . We did not even ask for a refund . So, be careful .
