It depends on your expectations, but I loved the location. I expected to find authentic atmosphere and that is what I got. No modern bathrooms and beds, but everything was there! The hosts didn’t speak English (only the son of the owner), but I think that is charming. They spend time and love in the dishes. The (private) road to the location is narrow , but okay as long as there is no other car in the opposite direction. I loved the location with a great view and great to wind down.

The staff and owners were all informative, kind and helpful. The location has one of the best views of anywhere I’ve ever been.

A stunning view of the Douro valley. We had an excellent dinner. One needs to make reservations beforehand to eat there. There is nowhere else in the area to dine. We were not given a dinner option however, the roast beef dinner was excellent as well as the dessert. The car ride up is a bit sketchy because it’s a VERY narrow to lane road winding up a Mt !! However the view makes the trip most worthwhile. Bedroom was nicely decorated and comfy.

Hidden Gem Everything was amazing except for the bed which was horrible. Food and service was excellent but the bed kept me from getting a good sleep. Loved the decor!!

The room was pretty. Bed was hard. Not enough toilet paper. No hair dryer. Pool was filled with algae and not swimmable. Dinner was terrible. Dry steak, oily potatoes and tasteless spinach. Wine made from their vinyard sounds lovely, but seeing it’s coming straight from the Douro wine country- we expected better wine. Starter, dinner and dessert, including white wine, red wine and port was all served within 30 minutes (all served with the wrong temperatures, for us wine lovers). The wine was also filled up way too much in the glass, but most would see that as a good thing! Breakfast wasn’t very tempting as meat and cheese was standing out without any coverage for 3+ hours. Lovely view though!

We stayed two nights and the facilities were nice, clean and decent value for money. The dinner, at 35€, which the estate offers was absolutely horrendous though. Overcooked steak, the wines were nothing else than low-quality and served at totally wrong temperatures, which an estate in the middle of Portugals wine region could definitely improve upon. Breakfast was ok-ish, but very basic. The location is sub-par, as it‘s close to a 30 minute drive from Pinhão were all the major restaurants are, which makes it hard to not choose dinner at the estate.

Achtung ⚠️ Dieses Hotel ist verlassen und heruntergekommen. Hier hat lange Zeit nichts stattgefunden. Tui hat uns hier einquartiert und wir standen vor verschlossenen Türen. Schon die Fahrt ist gefährlich - die Straße ist teilweise unterdpült. Wie kann es sein, dass diese Unterkunft noch überall angeboten wird? Achtung ⚠️ nicht buchen! Achtung ⚠️
