We were lucky enough to return to this lovely hotel , gardens and spa. We were here four years ago, and as luck would have it, we were put in the same suite as before. Just absolutely lovely. The dinner here was special, just like before. The presentation over the top. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming. Highly recommend this wonderful experience.

Luxurious hotel for an indulgent splurge. The grounds are a virtual botanical garden, with all manner of birds to be seen partaking of the nectar from the many species of flowering trees and shrubs. Guest bungalows are beautifully furnished and quite large, with separate sitting areas, glittering chandeliers and a fireplace to ward off any night chills. Ours (#112) was occupied by the Queen of Spain during her visit to Ecuador in the 1990's. Bed warmers are also set in place during the nightly turndown service. There also a beautiful spa, with a lovely indoor pool and serene massage and treatment rooms. The delicious included breakfast is served in a glassed in setting that allows you to watch peacocks strut around the lawns outside and if you'd like to feed them the staff has bags of breadcrumbs ready for you to toss. The hotel also operates the most elegant restaurant in the area, if not the country and while the prices are above average for fine dining in Ecuador, the food and service more than justify the cost. That said we are not talking serious money by US standards. The most expensive main course, Duck La'Orange, being around $30, at lunch. Bottom line, after braving 13,000 feet to explore northern Ecuador, go ahead and treat yourself to this very special place.

Beautiful grounds. The peacocks ate right out of our hand. Food is excellent and served quietly by women dressed in indigenous clothes. We enjoyed the fire in the fireplace in our room and our own private patio fill of flowers and trees.

I have stayed at hotel La Mirage in Cotacachi just one night and I ha been surprised by the quality, level of details and friendly welcome we have been offered. Welcome fresh fruit juice, flowers, chocolate bonbons, COVID - related safety measures well and thoroughly applied, spacious and luxurious suite, wonderful gardens, with trees, flowers everywhere, peacocks roaming free etc. At dinner, personnel gave us (and also to the other clients) quite a secluded table (inside, it was raining) from which we could enjoy the view of the garden well illuminated as well as the warmth of the chimney inside the restaurant. The service was impeccable, quick, perfect.... Couldn't be better. Price is correct compared with the quality received. A place I do recommend.

Went for a day at the spa. Needless to say it was just perfect and relaxing. Lunch followed with a perfect high cuisine menu that included roasted lamb, ending with a delicious rose ice cream, and figs in a red wine sweet sauce.

Desde el inicio de la atención telefónica para la reserva fue muy buena, y, cuando llegamos al lugar tenían todo preparado. El personal es muy atento y preocupado de que el huésped tenga la mejor experiencia posible dentro de las instalaciones. Las habitaciones son muy confortables y adecuadas para descansar. La comida es muy buena y la cantidad es adecuada. El servicio de masajes es bastante bueno y muy recomendable. El único punto ha mejorar es la piscina que se calienta solo por energía solar. En el primer día que estuvimos no pudimos utilizarla ya que estaba fría por falta de sol y a la siguiente. Mañana ya pudimos utilizarla. Sugiero que deberían colocar una turbina eólica para que se solucione dicho inconveniente.
