What a wonderful hotel, the very best one in the area by far. We arrived earlier than expected and the room wasn’t ready but we were given our wrist bands and told to go to lunch and use the bar. The whole atrium was spectacular it was honestly the most beautiful area I have ever seen inside a hotel being a sub tropical climate it did tend to get a bit hot and muggy on a night but you can put up with that. The rotating bar area was a unique feature but we did hear other people saying they felt drunk when they hadn’t had anything while being on it but we loved it. The location of the hotel was just perfect as it’s right on the beach and the other side is close to the main tourist area which was filled with plenty of bars and restaurants. We paid for a superior room on the fifth floor 523 and the view was marvellous, the only draw back was it did look like the room had had a leak at one time and the laminate and the bottoms of the skirting boards were a bit blown in the hall/bathroom area but it didn’t cause any issues for us at all, it just may need to be repaired before the next season. The rooms are cleaned to a really high standard and the milk replaced each day as are the towels if required. The whole of the hotel is spotlessly clean in every area and it’s not very often you can say that in an honest review. Yes there are still people who put the towels on the loungers first thing in the morning and to be honest the OH did that also after the first few days of having to sit in the shaded area, we did watch to see if anything was removed but they weren’t even when the towels have been down and the owners didn’t show up until later on in the afternoon. Before I comment on the food I need to make a huge shout out to Mar and Carmen in the restaurant who every morning fetched me some gluten free bread, they even added a gluten free mini sponge cake and some cornflakes. Mar especially is a huge asset to the team and really does deserve this shout out. Food, now as stated above I am coeliac and at times the labelling wasn’t always correct especially on the dessert station. Over the years I have learned to stick to protein and salads at mealtimes to ensure I don’t end up with a visit to the hospital.Most of the time I can find enough to make a meal but on a few occasions we had to eat out, breakfasts and lunches were usually fine but the main evening meal did cause a few problems. With so many nationalities and so many people to feed this will always be an issue as you can’t please all of the people all of the time. What I could eat was lovely and it has in no way deterred us from staying with you again. We absolutely loved our stay with you, all of your staff are friendly and helpful but the stand out for me was Mar who went above and beyond and is worth her weight in gold. We so look forward to coming to stay with you again.
