I adored staying at this riverside hotel and did not want to leave. The management and staff did everything they could to make us feel comfortable and welcome despite us speaking very little French! They accommodated all requests and were super helpful. We had a room that faced the river, which was incredibly tranquil, and we could open the windows and doors to the balcony, so there was plenty of fresh air. The mattresses were comfortable, and the bedding wasn't too heavy, so we slept perfectly. The room was spotless and had lovely fabrics and furnishings. The hotel is well located for riverside walks, bike rides, exploring the vineyards and wandering the village. We dined at the in-house restaurant, and the food (classical French with modern influences) was of a very high standard. The wine list was also excellent, with a fine selection of local wines (we enjoyed a delicious Condrieu and a fabulous Côte Rôtie from a small producer). It is a charming place with personality, genuine warmth and old-fashioned hospitality, and I very much look forward to returning.

The best hotel in Condrieu. Breathtaking views of the Rhône, large and comfortable suites with king-size beds, spacious bathroom with bathtub and shower. Terrace overlooking the river. The restaurant provides exceptional gourmet food, with a well-trained and welcoming staff. The owners' hospitality is excellent. A very good choice for visiting Lyon and wineries.

The hotel is beautifully situated on a lovely bend in the Rhône river, with a terrace and lawn going down to the river. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, atmosphere is discrete and calm, the food is excellent and the staff welcoming and attentive. A well-run establishment which it was treat to find. Food and rooms are worth the price.

From cockroach served in food to curtains falling off the walls to rudeness by staff the whole place is badly run down and sadly lacks care and investment compared to 20 other places I stayed at in last month. After visiting for 30 years never again. Front of house and restaurant staff poorly trained, the food offering was the worst of anywhere in France during a one month trip through France. The once famed wine list was poor and lacked depth or knowledge. One broken coffee machine used for the whole hotel for breakfast is ridiculously inadequate and the price and quality of breakfast really poor. Why would anyone stay here. France is so much better than this. Avoid at all costs.

This hotel is sadly trading on past glories - well situated but falling apart with next to no investment in the facilities or food and wine offering in the last 15+ years. Staff poorly trained, food and wine offering really poor for any wine region in the world let alone this one so close to Lyon, rooms badly in need of a major overhaul, needs demolition and change of management - the place is a sad wreck that is trading only on its lovely river position - not then quality of its offering. After 30 years of staying I won’t be visiting or bringing customers here again. Really embarrassed to have bought customers here this year - never again.

We booked direct with hotel in March for our stay end August. Several emails exchanged as well as calls. This return trip was very special to us as stated in email and on calls.. We were returning after 25 years to celebrate retirement. Privilege Room booked in main building with antique furniture but no view of Rhone. Upon arrival no recognition of our return. Shown to room not in main building. Good size but horrid reproduction modern furniture. Made our case at reception but hard work to get them to understand . Claire did help us eventually but we felt no empathy. We were given upgrade to excellent room. Not once was our retirement or return mentioned. . Quite excellent cuisine. Superb dining staff. Good secure parking. Clearly a lot of money spent on wine and food and worth every penny. Breakfast exceptional on terrace as was dinner. As we left a lovely waitress from dinner came out to say goodbye and wish us well on our trip. I wish I’d got her name. All in all this could have been an e exceptional review if only attention to detail upon arrival had been adhered too. We will definitely return but with caution on room booking and continue to recommend. Thank you.

Arrived after long car drive to be shown to a top floor room carrying all the luggage up stairs The receptionist showed me the room and pretended to switch on the air con with the room at 33 degrees After leaving I could not get the air con to work and the receptionist came back and admitted it was not working and they had no rooms where it was working This room had been booked for months and some pre warning and some honesty would have gone a long way As it was I left and found a very nice village hotel The hotel was fair enough in refunding my payment. But I find it hard to accept the deliberate lies

I also have posted this message in the restaurant review. It's a lovely place but if driving from The North, beware, especially if it is night time, that GPS sent us on a 10 mile very narrow roller-coaster type path overlooking high cliffs with no lights or guard rails. You cannot back up or turn around once entering the road. It was a very stressful experience. Thank heaven the rain had stopped by then. It seems that if driving from The South this road is avoided so perhaps you should drive past Condrieu and then turn around, since there is no drama to that route. (Room in the annex building was completely fine, don't know why there are such negative reviews).
