알미하라 레지던스(Almijara Residence)

Wow... the hospitality is second to none. The roof top terrace is the best place to sit in the entire city. The bar & breakfast are both incredible. Location is perfect. Super clean. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Welcoming hosts, accommodated early checkin. Lovely hiking nearby (lots of mountain wildflowers). Excellent breakfast (and provided packed breakfast on day of departure as we had to leave early) and lovely views from roof terrace. Some nice touches such as the sherry and salted almonds in the room. Building has been stylishly refurbished, rooms have air con. I would go for a room overlooking the square (there is some noise but easily blocked out with double glazed windows). Be aware that the walk up from the (free) covered municipal parking is quite steep, but short. No lift in the hotel so the stairs won’t suit everyone! Would definitely stay here again if in this area.

We have just returned from our stay at Almijara and don't normally leave reviews however on this occasion we wanted to share our experience Communication was excellent and we were impressed from the moment we walked through the door. Maurice was a great host and gave us lots of useful information about local restaurants etc The attention to detail is exceptional from the local wine and almonds in our room to the fantastic roof terrace with it's honesty bar. Breakfast was fantastic and made such a change from the normal bread,ham and toast. The presentation was excellent. Our bed was very comfortable and everywhere was clean and modern Should we be in the area again we will choose to stay here. Thank you Maurice and Paul

In bester Lage und mit geschmackvollen, mit Liebe eingerichteten kleinen Zimmern glänzt das B+B von Maurice wie ein Stück zuhause in der Ferne. Egal wo sie schon auf dieser Welt logiert haben, egal in welchem Lokal sie schon diniert haben, ein Frühstück im Almijara auf der Dachterrasse darf auf keiner Liste eines anspruchsvollen Reisenden fehlen!

This was a return trip for my husbands birthday as we couldn't think of a better place that suits our needs. We were only there at the end of August for 10 wonderful nights, which he did a review for. This place is everything he, and everybody else says. Maurice went above and beyond for his special day with a stunning breakfast and some surprise little extras. We were lucky to find this lovely little hotel, in a perfect spot, in a lovely little town. We'll be back soon as this is as good a place to stay,for short or extended breaks, as any within its bracket. We were welcomed with open arms and bid farewell with a hug.

Service and Location is amazing The Breakfast is worth having The B&B is located in the Center of this vibrant town. Located on the Main Square Plazza Almijara opposite the historic Church. Bars, Restaurants and Shops Are in walking Distance.

What a fantastic experience! Thank you, Maurice and Paul, for being amazing hosts to friends and I for a week. The hotel is lovely, bright, exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. All reviews seem to mention the breakfast and I see why! Absolutely Scrumptous, varied and beautifully prepared by Maurice daily! The hotel is in the heart of the village, we basked in the morning sun on the terrace overlooking the town square and enjoyed easy strolls to restaurants and shops nearby. You can’t beat the perfect location, incredible hosts, the attention to detail and a fantastic champagne birthday surprise breakfast! We left feeling we’d made friends for life. Can’t wait to visit again!

Fab 2 nights in clean, modernised hotel overlooking the main square. Our host, Maurice, is such a gentleman! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Our breakfast was included and each morning we were presented with a different menu consisting of fresh orange juice, coffee as requested, cereal with fresh fruit and yoghurt, a main course and little pastry to finish and all served on the lovely roof terrace which also had an honesty bar, which we made use of in the evening. The complimentary local wine and almonds in the room was so thoughtful. Loved our stay and Competa is beautiful and everyone so friendly.

Maurice and Paul have created a relaxing and amazingly designed hotel in the centre of Competa. Generous and helpful hosts with great breakfasts and stunning views from the terrace. There's so much to do in this gem of a village up in the hills
