Had a one night stay, which was long enough. Plus: Nice big car park, pleasant reception staff and barman. The barman has to be summoned from the restaurant as he is required to serve there. The room although clean was badly designed... a bed side cabinet on each side of the bed is a basic requirement. The most disappointing thing was the restaurant. 29 euros for 2 courses. We had a complimentary tiny, rock hard piece of toast with scrambled egg ...I then had 3 tiny razor clams, my husband had a weird, tasteless green soup with bits of boiled egg floating in it. followed by an uninspiring piece of hake in a basic sauce. The barman said that the restaurant is aiming for fine dining....they have a long way to go. The trouble is, it is at least 45 mins to walk into town from the location of the hotel.

The hotel was lovely the reception very friendly.A little bit of a walk to the fort and no taxi or bus service in the evenings so a long walk. The pool looked lovely but we were not advised uk swimming shorts for men were not acceptable so husband and brother in law could not enjoy the pool. Overall a lovely clean hotel.

A lovely experience and a welcome break. Being able to have access to the Spa, even without trea**ents, was a real bonus and made the stay very relaxing. The hotel is of a high standard and the restaurant provided excellent food.

The place is clearly old and might need some refurbishment, the AC in the rooms is useless, only one small bottle of water in the room for the entire stay is not enough. But the position is great, on the seaside and walking distance from city center, the Spa is free for the clients, you also have an outside heated pool, the parking is free...so you have plenty of arguments to chose this hotel, even if the prices are quite high. And choose another restaurant, there are plenty in the city center!

The location by the beach was great but I would never stay here again because the hospitality was very poor. I booked this hotel because of the pool facilities but the staff have a lot of weird hangups about guest access to it. When we arrived, we were told we couldn’t check in early or leave our bags at the front desk to enjoy the pool for a little bit until our room was ready. When we booked spa appoin**ents and tried to enjoy the pools after we were checked in, a woman staff member of the pool facility approached me to tell me that my standard men’s swimsuit wasn’t appropriate and I must purchase a tight little pair of trunks they conveniently happened to sell at the spa in order to even access the facilities. I couldn’t get a solid explanation as to why but was made to feel like I had done something wrong by wearing a normal swimsuit and not a tight little pair of briefs. By the time that I bought the swimsuit they made me buy, I had to get ready to leave for a wedding I was there for totally frazzled. When I had my spa appoin**ent the next day, I still couldn’t use the pool facility because there was a water aerobics class and they had oversold the pool to max capacity. Aside from the poor service and inability to use the pools, the air conditioning didn’t work at all, bathroom was incredibly spartan with only one “all in one” body wash/shampoo/conditioner, and the hotel itself felt dated like it was a retirement home. I was appalled by the poor service at the spa and overall low quality of the hotel. Don’t let the nice pictures fool you, they ruined the only redeeming qualities of the hotel with poor service. My advice to management is to have the younger spa receptionists leading your operation because they were the only pleasant members of staff that I encountered.

The spa facility and being close to the beach were great. The guest rooms are very dated, hence the 3* rating.

The sea view room lived up to its name and was very spacious. The quality of the food was excellent too although breakfast was expensive. What was lacking was service eg no porterage, on two nights there was no bar service .No information about room service and a strict limit on the numbers of diners they would accept for dinner. So didn't really merit a 4 star rating R
