This is definitely a five star hotel. From check in to check out everything about our stay was perfect. We had a room facing Queen Anne Ct. that had a door to the court yard from the room. It was more of a suite than a room, a large room with a wall dividing the sitting area from the sleeping area. Everything was super clean and the attention to detail from housekeeping was exceptional. They even replaced any used towels with fresh ones in the evenings for turn down service. Every evening there was a small gift on the bed - chocolates, spa samples, a sleep kit with eye mask and ear plugs and one evening there were self heating eye masks that were so soothing. The bed was firm and the sheets so soft for the best sleep. The grounds are beautiful as is the interior of the castle. Breakfast was really good and the service in the dining room was the best. Pancakes and French toast!!! Sooo good! Morning views at breakfast just added to the ambiance. Everyone and I mean everyone went out of their way to accommodate what ever we wanted, always with a smile and genuine interest. They spoiled and pampered us and have left us dreaming of Dromoland. Thank you for a wonderful time!

My Husband & I have been on countless tours during our travels around the world, but none more enjoyable than the Falconry at Dromoland Castle!! We had the pleasure of touring with the owner of the Falconry & his 11 month old Harris Hawk- “ BRUTUS”! We also met his Falcon- “ Spitfire “ & his adorable Barn Owl- “ Pickles “! We will always remember this special day simply because our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge about these magnificent birds, that are obviously the “ Loves of his life!! “ We would definitely do this tour again!! This hotel is the epitome of Irish hospitality. The welcome is exceptional, the team outstanding, surroundings exceptional & the golf ……. Ooooh the golf. The course design, condition, calibre of greens, tea boxes & support staff would put any Irish links course to the test. Take a bow Dromoland.

Our family loved our stay at Dromoland Castle! The staff are so welcoming and have first class customer service. The property is beautifully kept. We went in late November so the Christmas decor was an added bonus to an already beautiful castle. This is truly a 5 star experience.

Stayed recently for two nights to celebrate a special family occasion. The level of service and professionalism from all staff is exemplary. The quality of food and wine in both the Fig Tree and the Earl of Thomond is outstanding. Special thanks to Tara in the Front Desk who assisted with all queries put to her. Not our first time to stay in Dromoland and we look forward to a return visit.

Disappointing We arrived at the Dromoland to a very cold reception. The receptionist had not a welcome of a 5 star hotel a resident would expect. When we were shown to our room we were put into a room down what felt like underground dungeon. If you are looking for a relaxing place to relax by the pool do not go here as you have to walk out of the hotel and out about 300 metres down to a GAA clubhouse pool. You have to walk down in your robe outside to the pool.Very disappointing altogether. The cocktail bar was fabulous and lovely and worth the treat. The dinner in the restaurant was very fair and was not worth the price paid. Breakfast was good. Overall this hotel is a 3 star and we were very disappointed with the level of standard and service the hotel provided.

Not much to add to all the previous fantastic reviews but here are a few comments. App based taxi service is available and costs considerably less than what the Castle would charge. We took a taxi into Limerick and enjoyed a nice walk around town and a lovely dinner at the Locke Bar which was reasonably priced and had live music and traditional dancing. Also they had outdoor seating on the river. Make sure to eat in the bar room for a casual meal. The bar is one of the best looking I have ever been in and serves some really nice food and drink. We really enjoyed the barman who broke out into both traditional song and Sinatra. You don’t need a jacket to eat at the Earl of Thurmond restaurant. It was a mix of fancy and casual dress. I wore khakis and a sweater. Food btw for both breakfast and dinner was extraordinary. Bring extra balls if you play golf. A decent amount of fescue and water. Back 9 was better than the front with the exception of the famous par 3 hole overlooking the castle. This might sound crazy but my biggest disappointment was the TV in our beautiful room. It’s the size of a laptop and has a poor channel selection. The shop off the lobby has some really unique stuff to purchase. We took the train from Dublin to Ennis and then a taxi to the Castle. This was very easy and inexpensive. Shannon airport is fantastic in terms of ease. 15 minutes from hotel and at gate 10 minutes later. You clear USA customs in Shannon.

We thought the rooms were the best of the castles we visited, sizeable with a perfect blend of modern amenities and traditional decor and in excellent condition. Beautiful grounds, access to rowboats, excellent food. Can’t wait to return!

Can’t say enough about how wonderful this spot is. Beautiful grounds, amazingly friendly and helpful staff, great food and many interesting activities. The staff and beautiful yet cozy decor make you feel like you’re at a country estate of a royal family as a guest. Rooms are big and well-tended, plus the walled garden is a treat. Golf was fun, too, and falconry! Tranquility at its best.
